I just got a set of Michelin PS 4 S tires, and there is a non-points autocross (SCCA Solo) this weekend. The weather will be in the 60's, and rainy or damp. Should I just wait until the next Points event?
I don't know if there is a bed-in period (like brake pads ..read more

2020 GTI SE w/ PP and manual transmission…
I am in “sport” mode and have traction control turned off by hitting the button on the center console, which gives me the little light on the dash. This prevents the nannies from engaging about 90% of the time, but on certain turns (especially banked or off camber turns) it feels as if the computer is cutting power momentarily in quick on and off cycles until my traction is better and I’m unwinding the steering wheel.
Using an OBD Eleven, can I...

I've spent the last two hours searching through old threads but can't find a solid answer on this.. I've been running Ferodo ds2500 pads front/rear on my stock PP brakes, but I'm starting to have issues where I'm occasionally I'll have to stop sessions early (~15 minutes of driving) as they are smoking. I haven't noticed much fade at all, but the smoke and smell isn't confidence inspiring at all, so I'm going to make the jump to the Macan caliper upgrade (can't afford a true BBK just yet)...

Old guy mod alert. I’ve been struggling to consistently heel toe in my Mk8 GTi, even after adding the WCT spacer.
My right ankle has had four different surgeries and now has quite a bit of arthritis in it, so my flexibility in that joint is pretty much done, unless the doctors end up replacing the joint like they’re talking about.
I can heel toe, fairly easily when I’m driving at 7/10ths, but day to day commuting, I just don’t have the ankle flexibility to get my foot rolled onto the go...

Picked up some 2 day passes for the michelin GT challenge IMSA at VIR for the family today. They’re still discounted until next weekend. This will be the first professional race my kids have been to. We’ve gone to some crash derby and small drag races up at Richlands so this will blow their minds.

Hey all - I bought my Golf R with the intention of it being the fun commuter/occasional autoX & HPDE car. It currently has the all the the typical STG 2 mods: Intercooler, DP, with a EQT OTS tune.
The car has 41k miles on it and I have done my best to take care of it with increased service intervals for oil changes, brake fluid etc.
With all of that said, in my most recent HPDE I noticed I kept feeling this constant anxiety and need to watch my access port like a hawk; which really...

Before we begin please heed the following warning:
This installation requires modifying the mounting bracket that connects to the driver seat’s lap belt anchoring point. A small amount of material must be removed in order for the anchoring bolt to fit. This is not approved by Schroth. Modify at your own risk.
The first thing you need to do is slightly enlarge the hole through which the driver seat lap belt anchoring bolt will pass through. The bolt is 14mm. I accomplished this using...
