Hi,
Looking for healthier alternative to butter.
Here's one option from benecol which says it helps lower cholesterol
https://shop.supervalu.ie/sm/pickup/rsid/76/product/benecol-cholesterol-lowering-light-spread-250-g-id-1019983000
And here's a competitor from pro-active
https://shop.supervalu.ie/sm/pickup/rsid/76/product/proactiv-light-spread-250-g-id-1023068001
Benecol is slightly lower on saturated fat, they are around the same on sugar.
So are my missing anything?
Note: goals are loose weight, lower cholesterol and de-risk fatty liver
Thanks ..read more

Hi,
Looking at some less dangerous ketchup.
I was looking at the Happy Pear ketchup —> https://thehappypear.ie/tomato-ketchup/
Then I compared it to the supervalue one:
https://shop.supervalu.ie/sm/pickup/rsid/76/product/supervalu-tomato-ketchup-470-g-id-1077096001
Slightly higher saturated fat, slightly lower sugar. So thinking what's the deal? Would have thought it would have better?
Now if we go to Aldi we can see this for a third the price and has a lot less sugar: https://groceries.aldi.ie/en-GB/p-tomato-ketchup50-less-salt-sugar-535g-bramwells/4061459300239
So if you are not going to ..read more

Hello everyone.
I never thought I would be writing to a sub-forum like this one, but here I am, laying myself bare and hoping to get info from others and give my lived experience. Maybe others can benefit from this, no matter the diet or lifestyle they choose. Some family members had dabbled in the carnivore diet and I decided to do some research on it. Like anything else, the data seemed to be very left and right with positive reports and negative reports. I noted the vast majority of the negatives were from sources and people who had not undertaken the diet themselves and verifiable scientif ..read more

Hi everyone
I'm going anonymous for this one as I have not totally made up my mind about what I am going to do here.
I am 47, and have been putting on weight since I was 25. I am now in the obese category on BMI.
Like many women of my age, I have also dieted on and off for the entirety of those 22 years. I have lost a stone, sometimes two, though healthy eating and exercise, but it never lasts for more than three months (mostly less). I find that - in comparison to my teenage years and my twenties, I am hungry all day long. I'm just exhausted of not only feeling like less of a person, I am exh ..read more

In fact, food and nutrition can help a lot with controlling erectile dysfunction (ED) by improving blood flow, lowering cholesterol, and keeping hormones in balance. Here are some food choices that might help ease the signs of ED:
Eating a heart-healthy diet, like the Mediterranean diet, can help your heart health and your ability to get and keep an erection. Eat lots of fruits, veggies, whole grains, lean meats (like chicken, fish, beans, and nuts), and healthy fats (like avocados and olive oil). And if you want to overcome the problem of ED, you can take Vidalista 20. Cut down on prepared fo ..read more

The recommendation for creatine is that you undergo a "loading period" for 2-3 weeks to saturate your muscles. I had been taking creatine for a few months but then got sick and stopped taking any supplements for 3 weeks while I recovered. Now I'm wondering do I need to re-load again ..read more

Hi everyone,
I'm 23 years old, and I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes back in 2021. Over the past few years, I've been through various medications and lifestyle changes to manage my condition, but it hasn't been without its challenges.
Initially, I was prescribed Trulicity, but unfortunately, I had to discontinue it due to experiencing an allergic reaction after increasing the dosage. Currently, I'm on Ozempic at a dosage of 0.25, but I haven't increased it yet as I'm awaiting guidance from my doctor. While on Ozempic, I've noticed some side effects like nausea, which has prompted me to rely ..read more

Hello all
Thanks for listening to this and I hope I can get some advice.
I had gastric sleeve surgery two years ago and I was down 33kg in the first few months, I've regained a lot and I'm now down only 22kg which admittedly has made my life/health so much better but I'm not where I want to be - by a long way (currently 120kg and ideally want to be 80kg)
I'm feeling like I did before the surgery - it rarely makes me feel full and I am concerned I've "stretched" what stomach is left.
My surgeon at the time was intending to perform a gastric bypass but had to switch to a sleeve during the op, bu ..read more
