Hi All!
If I have a large serving of fat, I’ll have intense diarrhea within 2 hours, nearly every time. I’ve been zero carb - eating almost exclusively 85/15 ground beef or steak with added butter and tallow - for 2.5 years. Everything is great when I do that. However, if I suddenly introduce even just a bit more fat, I’d better be within rapid access to the facilities. Some examples include:
I ate a pound of burger patties using 80/20. Usually I don’t make patties, so most often far more fat is rendered out.
I was invited out for lunch so opted for a large portion of salmon, coo ..read more

My doctor told me my blood sugar was higher last time. It was. This is a comparison of what my blood sugar used to be over about 14 months. You can see they were basically exactly alike:

I think my blood sugar is higher because I had to switch to a different drug, and after I switched drugs, that’s when I developed higher blood sugar. I can’t prove that, though, because I wasn’t religiously taking blood sugar (why do so, when the above is what I was getting?). I started retaking blood sugar when my HbA1c went up. This is what caused me to start takin ..read more

Hi All,
I came across this as a recommendation of a food high in MCT (medium chain triglycerides):
amazon.com
Amazon.com: Artisana Organics Raw Coconut Butter, 14 oz | No Sugar Added, Paleo,...
Since I do no eat bread, what would you smear it on? And somethings that I do not use butter on?
Many thanks,

Hi All,
One of my customers just got checked into memory care with T3 (Alzheimer’s). I spoke with her family this morning. It is a very sad situation: heart breaking.
Now since my wife and I are of that age and are both strict Keto (I am T2) for the last ten years, its occurs to me I’d better make sure both of us are consuming a lot of MCT’s (medium chain triglycerides). We do eat a lot of meat.
Am I over thinking this?
Many thanks,

I usually put a tablespoon or two of MCT oil in my morning coffee, both for the energy/ketones, and as a bit of a laxative. I don’t want to travel with it, as it tends to leak no matter how hard I try to contain it. (No idea, but I’ve never gone anywhere that I don’t wind up with a ziplok bag full of mct oil that slowly gets all over everything else.)
Does anyone have experience with MCT powder? Does it have the same laxative effect? Does it add more or less the same taste / non-taste to coffee? I do want my ketone boost, but I’m always stopped up when I travel, so the anti-const ..read more
