The LEGO Ideas 80’s set fan vote has reopened, with a new contender! After a false start due to the LEGO Ideas team choosing two designs by the same creator, the fan vote to pick the first of two sets has reopened. The submission that was forfeited to make way for the new contender was the Goonies inspired build. Replacing it is based on Disney’s Honey I Shruck the Kids. I must say this one looks great with the large LEGO Brick stick out the ground. It joins the other four sets, E.T., Karate Kid, Gremlins, and Beetlejuice. The sets will be part of the larger Summer wave of LEGO Ninjago sets and have been listed for an August release window. The sets include a battle arena, combo vehicle and a mech. At the end of last week the fan vote started to find the first of two future LEGO Ideas sets, the voting has since been paused and will recommence soon! The five sets in the running were revealed and voting started, but due to a slight oversight, by the LEGO Ideas team, two of the submissions are from the same creator. This goes against the terms and conditions of the challenge and therefore the voting process has been paused and will eventually be reset when an alternative submission has been chosen. Three LEGO Super Mario sets we’re revealed during the MAR10 Day stream earlier this year, today the LEGO Group have revealed a refreshed look for the packaging! The three sets, Bowser’s Express Train (71437), King Boo’s Haunted Mansion (71436) and Battle with Roy at Peach’s Castle (71435) will be the first LEGO Super Mario sets to be released with the updated design. Two upcoming LEGO Animal Crossing sets now have official images, after yesterday’s surprise teaser! These official images offer us a much better look at what if on offer this coming Summer when they drop. Each set recreates specific locations from the Animal Crossing: New Horizon game, including Town Hall and Dodo Airlines. An image has appeared on the LEGO Building Instructions page revealing the upcoming LEGO Fireworks Celebration (40689) gift with purchase set! The set captures fireworks exploding in the night sky using a combination of stickers and brick-built elements. There are a couple of Minifigures included, a Dad and his Daughter perhaps. Given that the image has been uploaded to the instructions portal suggests that it’ll be available soon, we speculate sometime at the start of May.
