Let’s face it. Hiking isn’t for everyone. That’s why I got so excited when my Dad wanted to hike on our most recent trip up north. To make it extra special, he was more interested in taking trail loops as opposed to one-way lookouts. Music to my ears! My parents are a little older, so steep inclines and miles of sandy path are not ideal. So of course, I took to my favorite app, AllTrails, to find easy/moderate trails for those less traveled. I am quarantined. Along with most of the world. On top of navigating this pandemic in the workplace, refreshing my resume, and curating a new portfolio, all I can think about is running away to the north. This past summer felt extremely different. My second summer after graduation, deep within the thralls of my first “big girl” job.
