When I left my successful career in the New York Fashion industry in 2015 and moved to Colorado, I decided never to go back to a corporate world and do two things I love:  Designing and Teaching. Why Teaching? 1.Being a teacher is a noble profession that can have a significant impact on the lives of students. 2. I felt I had the necessary education, experience and qualifications to teach effectively. I used to teach my subordinates while managing product development. Also used to conduct teaching seminars when I travelled to factories overseas. 3.It helps my professional development: I co ..read more

Interview for a Designer Spotlight By: FashWire Apr 07, 2023 12:35 PM What is your earliest design memory for your brand? One of my earliest memories of the brand is designing in my kitchen in the early 90s, getting rolls of fabric at the retail stores in the New York garment district, cutting samples on the floor, and getting orders from a boutique in Forest Hills, Queens. The store loved my designs, and the demand was high, but I struggled with production and so I decided to enroll at FIT.  What is the story behind the name of your brand, KetiVani? It is a slight modification of my give ..read more

Inspired to create the best quality garments possible, designer Keti McKenna launched her brand KetiVani in May 2017. After moving from New York City to Denver, McKenna worked as a senior designer at a startup contemporary fashion company in Cherry Creek.  One day, McKenna saw the same fabric she used to design in the window of Garbarini boutique.  After walking inside and starting a conversation with the owner, Terri Garbarini, McKenna invited her to look at her collection. From there, Garbarini asked McKenna to design and produce private label garments — soon after, Garbarini bout ..read more

Ketivani is a sustainable brand. We offer limited runs of ready-to-wear (RTW) and we are proud to provide consistent sizing to all its clients. The major downside of RTW is the overproduction of garments, thereby contributing to environmental and ecological damage. Also, ready-made clothes can’t guarantee perfect fitting. While you may appreciate the design and the fabric, you might not like the waist seam position, as it does not compliment your body type and personal preferences. For those reasons, we also offer custom-made and made-to-order. However, the cost of custom clothing is a lot hi ..read more

KetiVani debut at Denver fashion week in November 2021 was a great success! It was inspired by the jacquard suit Keti designed for the Denver Art Museum display. She wanted to show glamour, modern sophistication with the edge. Her intention was for ladies not to forget to wear high heels and look glamorous, in spite of the times we live in. She also debuted her 1st menswear jacquard suit. 5 people inquired about it after the show and it got sold the week after. Thank you 303 Magazine for this opportunity! MIRANDA, NOVEMBER 4, 2021 Keti McKenna’s Big Break in the Fashion Industry McKenna grew up in Tbilisi, Georgia in the Soviet Union, and living there highly impacted her view on fashion. “I grew up during the Soviet era, but still, Tbilisi was the most fashionable city in the former USSR.
