Hi Experts,
I’ve had carpet pythons around my house for years, just recently spotted a fairly active possible juvenile (seems to be 1.5-2m) coiled up tightly in tree canopy for days, it was stretched out a bit yesterday but all coiled up tight again now. I’ve never witnessed this behaviour in 20 years and kind of wondering what it means? Is it a weather thing or a digesting thing? It’s in such a weird spot - spotted what I the same one last week pretty active getting back into the roof last...

I’ve heard it’s a good idea to take your reptile outside for at least 20 mins a week so they can absorb natural sunlight.
However I’m wondering how people keep their reptile safe while they’re outside. Do you just hold them? I’m worried about losing her if I put her down on the ground. I’m thinking of making some sort of box out of wood and mesh maybe? Does anyone have any better ideas ..read more

Hey, just to start, I acquired a juvenile Northern Spiney Tailed Gecko named Ekko (Strophurus ciliaris) recently, and he is eating four medium sized crickets every 3 days with calcium coating applied every second feeding. He is housed in a 30cm X 30cm X 45cm enclosure (plan to upgrade after a year once he grows) with sand substrate, branch, vine, and a compact top that has Exo Terra Repti Glo UVB 5.0 Compact Bulb installed that will automatically turn on from 7:00am to 3:00pm. Currently, the...

I've had a sand monitor for around 7 months. I'm asking about a few things. Firstly how high would all of you recommend that I keep the humidity? When he sheds I've noticed lots of stuck shed on his head, neck and tail. I think that the humidity is a too low. Is it possible to make a sand monitor enclosure bioactive?
Another thing that it would be great to receive help for is building trust with him and getting to the point where it is familiar with me. I do a lot of work near his cage so...

Hi all.
I'm in the middle of a wine fridge conversion to incubator. It's a 86x55x50cm glass door wine fridge with traditional refrigeration coils. It's got 16 gauge 240vac wiring running into the interior which connected to the original thermostat and I'm qualified for the related work so no issues there. All electronics will be inside the fridge so there won't be waste heat.
Control will be via an Arduino board, power to heating will be via a zero crossing SSR to 240vac; cooling (although...
