Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis - ADG Episode 337

I'm somewhat disappointed at how little use the whip gets in this game. :P Starting off 2025 strong with the Ancient DOS Game: Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, specifically the "graphic adventure" variant, developed and published by Lucasfilm Games in 1992. The game definitely has an ambitious feel to it, given a wide variety of mini-games and methodologies for reaching the end of the game, but the last portion of the game when you actually reach Atlantis is a bit more of a mess comparted to everything leading up to it. Also, average-quality voice acting and sub-average-quality fighting ..read more

Fuchsia is a weird word... :P Today's Ancient DOS Game had to be switched out at the last minute due to emulation issues, thus Gemini's ending the year taking a look at Battle Chess, a more animated take on classic chess gameplay developed by Interplay and originally published by Electronic Arts in 1988 on Amiga computers, with the DOS version being published by Interplay themselves in 1989. ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * If you'd like to purchase a copy of this game on GOG, follow this link: https://www.gog.com/en/game/battle_chess/?pp=91d ..read more

Try not to look at the thumbnail if you want any hope of guessing what this game may be given the title! :P This week for No-Nostalgia Retro Gaming a tie-breaker on the votes landed us on "Final Assault", a game which has nothing to do with warfare, shooting, or any of that, developed by Infogrames with the C64 being published through Epyx in 1988. And yes, I was referencing a VERY old LGR video at one point early in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hpDq-AHt4DQ --------------------------------------- If you want to join the fun and either nominate games to appear on the show, or vote on nomina ..read more

So how DO you make an entire game out of a film which is only 7 1/2 minutes long?? Today on Ancient DOS Games, Gemini's taking a look at Tom & Jerry: Yankee Doodle's CAT-astrophe, an arcade-styled action game based on the 11th Tom and Jerry short film titled: "The Yankee Doodle Mouse", released by Hi-Tech Expressions in 1990. This is a budget title through and through with very little to see or do, originally sold for only $12 back when it first came out, but comparatively speaking to the other titles available at similar price points back then, you are getting what you pay for and at leas ..read more

If Carmen Sandiego were THIS easy to find, she'd never accomplish any cimes. :P In today's Ancient DOS Games Pro video, Gemini's going back to the 1990 DOS release of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? to take a deeper dive into its mechanics to make more sense out of the various ranks, travelling between cities, clue gathering, and figuring out which crooks are to blame on each case. ------------------------------------------ Additional Information and Corrections: * No, you will not find Carmen Sandiego here in the video description, although that was certainly a meta place for you to ch ..read more
