Can anyone help me out on the towing capabilities of the 2017 F-150 ecoboost with the 2.7L? I read that the towing capacity is 8,500lbs. I may purchase a travel trailer and its dry weight is 7,000 and a 9,500 grvr. Is this too big for the truck? Some of you may have seen that my 2013 got totaled last week. She was a tow beast after completing basically every cooling mod there is. Well, soon it'll be time to see what a totally stock 2021 will do. Payload on the old girl, 1250, 35" raptor takeoffs, 3.55 gears, 6spd. Payload on the new, 1768, stock 33's, 3.73 gears, 10spd. Reason for this thread is to get some opinions and experiences about this OVERHEATING when worked hard. With my 2017 3.5 I had the same problems as others had when towing, pretty much solved those issues, by 180dg thermostat, installing a different grill, open mesh and removing all the shutters. I can still get it hot by abusing it real hard but for all my towing needs it's fine. Now to the bronco comparison issues 2.3 motor auto 10r60 trans. Hi. I have a 2014 F150 FX4 that I'm looking to pull a toy hauler with. I've pulled my little 13' 1200 lb camper with atv in bed no problem, but im not sure if the toy hauler will be too much for my truck. The hauler is a 2016 Palomino Palomini 177OVRBH. It's 3900 lbs dry, 30 ft overall length with includes the trailer and deck on this model. I went to the dealer yesterday to peruse and look at a few trailers. Rpods were one we wanted to check out and some of their new trailers have some wild suspensions: This was a single axle trailer but there was also a dual axle with the same setup. RP-203 I think? I tried to rent a bobcat from a rental company. They told me that they require a 3/4 ton truck to tow it. I ended up leaving instead of getting into an argument about it because I don't know that much about these trucks, but what I do know is that my F150 ecoboost has a towing capacity of 14,000 pounds, which is the equivalent of an entry level F250. Hello Ecoboost, The wife and I are looking at a cougar half-ton model fifth wheel. Dry weight on fifth wheel is 8195 pounds with hitch weight of 1755. Truck has max towing of 11,300 pounds. I do have a lift/level on it. I know I would need some kind of slide hitch. Questions are: Is this to much trailer for my truck? What kind of gas mileage would I hope to get?
