I am installing the Redarc brake controller on a ‘23 sahara that did not come with the factory trailer wiring kit. I have since installed the mopar trailer wiring kit to the jeep. Will is the jeep have the harness under the dash for at least the power inputs and I just need to run the brake output wire? Or will I have to bring power, ground, brake power in and brake output wires to under the dash? If I have to wire everything, does anyone know where to tap into ..read more

I have had my 2024 Jeep Wrangler set up to be flat towed behind my RV. We have already taken one good trip with it and it worked great. However I have some questions in regards to the location the installer chose for the Wiring harness and the breakaway. As far as looks goes this location is fine. My question is more about driving off-road. Does this location hinder my ability to? Does it cause an insure with water fording? Would I be better off moving these to the top of the bumper... I searched, but can't find... Anyone know how many amps can be drawn from the 12v on the trailer plug? I want to instal a dc-dc charger on a trailer I just bought... to charge the trailers batteries. Just want to make sure I'm not overloading anything. Also, it appears the 12v is always hot, right? So, I just need to make sure I don't let the trailer kills the Jeeps battery, right?
