Towing noob here - I'm renting a small travel trailer soon, and so I've set it up in my truck based on specs (Amerilite 199DD). It's all fairly straight forward but I'm not sure on what Trailer Brake Type I should input into the system: Default is: Electric/Surge/None (sort of a weird default if you ask me) The other option is: Electric over Hydraulic I'm assuming the default is the right choice, but the TT definitely should not have surge brakes, and it does have brakes, so not "None"... Anyone have any input on adding a sway bar for towing, possibly using the detachable links Jeeps use when going off road. Not sure about using a sway bar with Air Bags I already have or is it a bad idea. So I just picked up a 24 Jayco Toy Hauler yesterday and the one thing I noticed is my side markers on the trailer all turn on with the headlights in the on position. The weird thing is they do not blink with the turn signals and stay solid lit. Even weirder I have side blind spot cameras that get no power with the lights on but then blink power with turn signals. Picked up my '23 Tremor with the 3.5L last week. Has trailer backup feature, hitch receiver, and trailer brake. Need to find out from this forum best towing hitch, etc. I don't tow a lot and don't plan to but like to buy quality gear (no boat, camper, etc.) I also like to run a hitch 100% of the time as it feels like it provides a bit of protection if someone rear ends me; I'd rather replace the hitch than the entire back bumper, sensors, lights, etc. Need to tow... So I just bought my 2023 3.5 Tremor and when I bought the truck my wife and I had no intentions of towing a Toy Hauler so I didnt focus too hard on tow capacity. I did a quick google search and it came up at 10,900LBS which was 400LBS higher then my 2017 Tundra 5.7 that I traded in for my F150.
