I'm trying to install a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 brake controller on my 2021 F-150. It's looks to be pretty straightforward with one exception - the factory harness that's supposed to receive the adapter that came with the truck (in the glove box) is not there. It's supposed to be plugged into a "dummy" spot under the dash, but again, it is not there. In the picture you can see the location where it should be, but the slot is empty. Trailer questions. Small 3500lb trailer hooked up to my 2019 f150. When I start the truck, a message on the screen states trailer connected. I click on "ok". While driving and braking, I don't see the 5 bar brake screen appear on the console even at highway speeds. However when I use the manual brake slider on the dash, I see the 5 bar brake scale screen appear and the more I slide the manual brake controller , additional green lights appear indicating that the trailer is braking. 2012 f150 fx4 ecoboost. Probably somewhere else but rewired my 5x8 utility trailer today plugged in the 4 pin connector and lights come on. However, when I turn left turn signal on, both turn signals on utility trailer blink very dim. When left turn signal left on the left light wires on utility trailer become very hot and the pin connector began to melt for that side. When I turn signal on the right it works perfectly fine. Don't have the truck yet, but when I was doing some reading on a Victron Orion 12|12 18A isolated DC/DC charger, came across this info: We have found that 2021 Ford F-150’s with Power Boost have a 7-pin connector that requires the trailer’s 7-pin harness to be connected in order to deliver voltage. It needs to detect resistance from a trailer load, like running lights, in order to activate. Hi there. My family is upgrading our trailer to an Imagine XLS 22bhe (hitch weight 543lbs, GVWR 6995, dry 5589). I know the F150 powerboost towing capacity is around 11K, however, I have seen varying payload capacities (from 1400 to 1700). I am not concerned about towing power, but the payload I am unsure about. Hi. I have a 2012, F150 Platinum truck and recently bought a boat with electric over hydraulic brakes. The previous owner of the boat tells me the brakes worked great. However, when I connected the trailer to my plug, nothing. I called Hydrastar and they recommended that I make sure I get 12 volts at the outlet. I checked, and I do not. I verified the fuses and they all seem to be fine so I'm thinking it may be the relay. Have a 2018 F-150 Lariat, 4x4 with the 10 speed 10R80 transmission. Recently had to have the transmission and cooler replaced. Temps are perfect when running without pulling my boat. It’s just an aluminum 18 foot bass tracker boat and well within towing compactly. When pulling the boat the temps get to 250. Thought the transmission that was installed was defective so it was warranted out. Now the second trans, with another new cooler, is getting hot when pulling the boat but takes roughly an hour to get hot (same timeframe as previously installed trans). Ok so planning on towing more with our Trailer and new truck and I have read most of the posts for older trucks and I believe I am good to go as I believe the Gross Tow weights is 14,000 if I watch my Packing load on Truck and Trailer.
