Picked this up a few days back, towed 40 miles home. First time towing with my Ranger. Lots of good advice given to me from members here. Bilstein 4600's on rear and Blue Sumo bump springs. Purchased an Equalizer wdh/sway system at the dealer. Had a little back and forth with install guy as I felt trailer was high in the front at first. Guilted them into adding a longer drop stinger (?) and here's how it looks. At the fender wells, rear of truck dropped half an... New Trailer ..read more

I recently purchased a 2021 Ford Ranger XLT FX4. I am transferring an Invisibrake 8700 from an older Honda CRV to the Ranger. Looking for insight from those that have installed it before on the 5G Ranger. Where you mounted the control/actuator box and piston? Under the seat appears to be a bit tight. Did you also install the brake relay and the charge line kit? Any other install suggestions? Many Thanks AB White ..read more

Just a simple question of "WHY?!"

As the title states, WHY?! Why is it when people get ready to get a camper trailer that is well within the Towing Specifications of their Rangers(or other vehicle) that they have to get a second opinion from someone that thinks you shouldn't go more than half the Towing Capacity or better yet longer than 15 FT? If there is anything I have learned over the years when it comes to Towing, first make sure that the Trailer you will be pulling is going to be withing your Tow Vehicles... How big is too big?

Hey all. Right now I am towing a Forest River Salem FSX 178bhsk with zero problems., it's 23" long and max 5000lbs real weight, the GVWR of the trailer is ~5200. It tows this like a champ across the entire state of PA, over the Appalachians, etc. In a few years when our kid heads off to college my wife and I are planning on trading this bunk house in for a larger, rear kitchen, couples model so we can snowbird. All of the options we are looking at are between 25-28ft long and a max GVWR... How big is too big ..read more

First "long" trip.

Well here was the first long trip to see the eclipse. The Ranger was pulling my Salem FSX 178bhsk. Almost 630 miles round trip, started at 207' of elevation, not sure what my highest was but I did cross over the highest point on I80 East of the Mississippi, @ 2250'. All in all this thing never felt like I needed more power. Now I don't push the weight limits of the trailer, but this one is slightly notorious for being a little tall, for its weight class, so it generates more wind... First "long" trip ..read more

Nose high or low

I just got a new 5 x 10 single axle utility trailer for my ATV, taking some measurements, I would need around a 7" drop hitch to have the trailer level. I have an adjustable hitch that can do that height, but I find it very loose and it extends a long way from the back of the truck, overall I don't like how it attaches. I have been unable to find a 7" drop hitch, only 6 and 8 inch options. Some of the adjustable ones I found also won't do 7, but will do 6.5 or 7.5". So I am trying to... Nose high or low ..read more

Tow Hitch Options?

I bought a 2021 Tremor but it did not come with a tow hitch. I went to my local Ford dealer to try and buy one but the one they said is compatible with my truck based on my VIN does not show the square hitch receiver tube on the diagram/picture. It looks identical to the one I have on now. I've seen posts on Reddit and other places asking the similar questions but no answers. Does anyone know if I can get the OEM hitch for it or do I have to go with a 3rd party option? I want to use it to... Tow Hitch Options ..read more
