Im trying to estimate fuel costs for a Boy Scout trip coming up the summer. I will be pulling a 7,000 lb cargo trailer from Washington to Idaho. Im hoping I can get a rough average for what kind of fuel economy to expect based on what y'all have experienced. Truck: 2019 2500HD LTZ L5P - 90,000 miles - Sort Bed, Quad Cab I have pulled this trailer twice now and averaged 14mpg and 10 mpg respectively. (The 10 mpg was almost all uphill) both trips were relatively short. I am leaning... avg fuel economy towing ..read more

Sorry for the long tittle. Wanted to catch the eyes of 24’s out there. So, Ive been chasing trailer fault massages up the wazoo since this thing rolled off the lot thinking a software issue. The constant “ding dong” On my dash drives me Batt $hit crazy! “check lights, check brakes, trailer disconnected, trailer brakes disconnected” All to find out, all my trailers are working fine. No issues with any of it when I hook to another truck or the 24’ when I physically check outside the truck... NO 12V POWER @ 7PIN CONNECTOR 24’ Denali Ultimate ..read more

Massive brake vibration then none

Hello, I am new to this forum and have a strange condition. I have a 2013 Sierra 3500 Denali that I use solely to pull a 18k fifth wheel on long trips. At the early part of each trip, after 20 miles of normal towing and braking, my brakes begin to shudder violently and I mean knock out your back teeth violently, and the steering wheel pulls to one side. I have learned to brake very lightly and carefully during this brief period. After 10 or 15 braking cycles, the issue goes away and... Massive brake vibration then none ..read more

Hello All - I've got a 2021 2500 and am currently using the B&W companion 5th wheel hitch for pulling our camper. I was originally going to buy the Goosebox, but there wasn't enough information out there at the time about side rail clearance...because as you know these new trucks have deeper beds than previous generations. Wondering if anyonne has any actual measurements for side rail clearance using a Goosebox on a 2020 or newer HD? I use my truck for a lot of other things besides... Question to those of you who pull on the heavier side.First time here on this forum. I am on my second 2500 hd duramax, my current one being a 2019. Truck is rated for 15500lbs for a 5th wheel. I have a trailer I want to upgrade to which is 12400 dry. We travel across British Columbia so lots of mountain passes, average 6-8 percent grades. Also want to go south with it. Wondering if I'm pushing it a little too much with this trailer. No kids on board so not a overly packed trailer. Just us... Max towing 2019 2500hd ..read more

Been reading a lot on upgrading my shocks on my 3500 dually, no lift stopck suspension. Truck is a daily driver and I live full time in my 42' triple axle 5th wheel that weighs in at 20k. Pull approx 10-15k per year when moving between campgrounds. Leaning towards Bilsteins B8 5100 all around but looking for input from folks that drive and tow similar to what I do. Any advantages between the B8 5100 or the B6 4600? Stock shocks are shot at 107k miles and need to replace. Appreciate the input... 2021 3500 HD DRW Shock Upgrade ..read more

I know this has been a topic before, but what I can find on the forums, its been quite some time since it was talked about. Hoping to get some input on bags and the quality of them. I have a 24' AT4 3500 HD and looking to put the PacBrake airbags on... Mainly for my Toy Hauler, but for my dump trailer as well. I had a 20 AT4 2500 HD and put on the AirLifter w/wireless control on and loved it, with on minor problem that the compressor lost connection to my phone and I could never get it... 21K Recon for Gooseneck Ball Mount The Recon Gooseneck Ball Mount is a light weight geometric design that fits 4" tall, 2-5/16” Gooseneck Ball Mount (Gooseneck Ball Mount must be rated at least 21K). The hitch can be easily separated into 2 pieces making installation and removal quick and easy. The Recon utilizes a standard 5th… www.demco-products.com Has anyone use this hitch or a similar one? I don’t wanna give up my gooseneck, but I get some calls to move fifth wheel campers. This looks like I could take it apart easy enough and keep in the bed and still use my goosneck ..read more

I have a 2024 Sierra 2500HD. I've read several threads on other forums about users that moved the aux camera connector on the rear bumper to the truck bed to better work towing a 5th wheel. Does anyone have a link or more information on the relocation? It seems they swapped it with the Flat 4 connector that is in the bed now ..read more

Invisible Trailer vs Rear Camera

Is configuring for invisible trailer better than just rear camera? Is it worth the extra trouble of setting it up? I have a 2024 2500HD with a 40' fifth wheel toy hauler. From what I read, invisible trailer will work with this if you tweek the configuration. I'm just not sure what makes this better than a rear camera. Either way I want to use the GM camera so it interfaces with my Infotainment screen ..read more
