BB recovery point

Ive search this forum and a few others and kind of gotten mixed ideas. So just to be clear lol. the general consensus is Using the receiver and a quality recovery Hitch (curt etc..) is safe to have someone unstick you? And questionable on kinetic rope? Or safe for both? I know the BB has no real way to add recovery point and with the tow package I can’t use the factory ring. Just don’t wanna mess anything up if I get crazy and get my self stuck ..read more

I bought a E trailers hitch and it came in last week , so I decided to install today, I have a 9k lift in my home shop (lucky me) no more shade tree driveway jobs for me, anyway I tried for 45 minutes to find a way to lift this big bend and just couldn't find away with its short wheelbase to get the pads located where I felt comfortable lifting it and working under it , so I rebuilt all four lift pads so that I can lift from the manuals recommended jack points, that means a slotted tube so... What size trailer hitch ball to buy?

I've never towed a trailer, and have no experience in that area. I may need to retrieve my Dad's 1964 Apache pop-up camper, and tow it cross country, and need to buy a trailer ball if I attempt this myself. I'm thinking that the ball size on Dad's cars were 1-7/8" and I've read that 2" is standard. The Apache weighs about 900 pounds, and tongue weight was 100#, if memory serves. My Dad passed away 3 years ago, and the camper is at a family member's house. It's unlikely that the family... What size trailer hitch ball to buy ..read more

I would be all over this with my Badlands "IF" it was attainable. It is shown as an accessory to buy for non factory installed models. But can you really get this finished look from the kit from Ford? This picture presents as a very clean look. After looking at the wiring thread posted here I can't imagine Ford not having an electrical clip in, in the back, for a tow hitch Has another bought the factory kit ..read more

I hope this is the right section: Ford dealership priced me out at $1200 ish for a Ford brand trailer hitch and installation. No wiring harness. Sounds ridiculous if you ask me. How much is it supposed to cost? On a bit of a time crunch since my bronco is sitting at the dealership now ..read more

Curt Trailer Wiring vs Ford OEM

My BS did not come with the factory installed trailer package. So I’ve done the research on what hitch I want to install. Now I’m trying to decide whether to buy the Ford OEM trailer wiring kit or the Curt trailer wiring kit. Any opinions on the pros and cons of each? The Curt looks much easier to install to me but am I giving up anything vs using the Ford OEM kit? eTrailer also has a Tekonsha kit in case anyone thinks that is a better choice for some reason too ..read more

OEM vs U-HAUL vs DrawTite Receiver Install

i know there are several threads on here on this general topic but most seem pretty old and I have not seen links to either of these videos. I bought a BS OB off the lot and therefore the factory tow package was not on it. most of my use case for a tow receiver would be to mount various things on it rather than to actually tow something. However I could see me wanting to tow a pop up camper at some point or even a small UHaul trailer occasionally. with that in mind I’ve been researching this...
