Mother Nature calls the shots every year
This year’s Olive harvest 2022 started on the 14th July, a month later than the previous year.
We now use a mechanical harvesting method of harvesting and collecting the olives.
625 of our 1700 trees were harvested this year, netting us 9 tonnes of beautiful fresh plump olives.
The harvest was completed in 1 day compared to the previous harvest, which took 10 days with the help of many family and friends.
24 large crates of olives left the Forest edge farm for a short journey by semi-trailer to Boyanup for processing.

Forest Edge EVOO New Packaging initiative Forest Edge Olive Grove Farm are doing even more to help our planet
We have purchased a fantastic shredding machine, and will now be recycling unwanted paperwork for cushioned packaging.
What will we be shredding
Invoices and statements, all unnecessary paperwork sent to our farm including other forms of paper packaging that will be recycled in our new shredding machine.
We are doing our best to not include coloured paper in our shredding and we never use high gloss paper, keeping it as safe as possible for your worms.

Only The Best Olives Olive Harvesting Begins by Choosing only the best Olives for customers
The first week in May marked the start for harvesting the best olives for our customers.
2018 being the first year after many when the best Olives have been ready a bit earlier in May. The weather has been gorgeous and kind to us for the start of this years harvest.

Celebrity Chefs asked for the Best Olive Oil. Forest Edge EVOO was the choice
Celebrity Chef Miguel Maestre said he was looking forward to cooking with local produce at the Taste Great Southern.
Miguel, who co-hosts the show The Living Room on Chanel 10, will feature at the Rockliffe Night Market and Lunch by the Lake events while in the Great Southern for the region’s premier food and wine event.

The best and recommended way to store Extra Virgin Olive Oil Keep Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a dark place
Keep it in the light will cause the quality of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to deteriorate, so make sure you store your oil away from light in a cool, dark place like in a cupboard or pantry. Do not store in the fridge. Storing Olive oil the refrigerator is NOT recommended.
