Dominant side and turning
Parkinson's UK Forum

I wasn’t sure where to post this as it is a bit of a random question but on the basis it seems to work for me, I thought wellbeing was a good a category as any. Like many of us I live with my feet freezing. I have however become increasingly aware, and it is most easily noticeable to me when doing my exercises, that if walking and needing to turn it is an easier and smoother turn if I turn anticlockwise. To go clockwise tends to stop me in my tracks. I am left sided dominant and as a leftie it is more natural to me to do what the right side dominant majority often consider wrong or awkward etc ..read more

Prosoma 500mg contains carisoprodol, the active ingredient of a medication. It works on the principle of muscle relaxation and hence falls under the major category of muscle relaxant medicines. Prosoma works by blocking pain sensations between the nerves and the brain, thereby helping to relax muscles and alleviate pain. This helps to reduce the sensation of pain and allows the muscles to relax. 1 post - 1 participant Read full topic ..read more

Let me explain the 100% bit. My Dad has been diagnosed with Parkinsons for a few years now and has recently started to get extreme and painful pins and needles in his hands. One hand has now also swollen. The pain is worse of a night. We have contacted the GP to make an appointment but wondered if others had also experienced this and whether there was anything you found helpful to relieve the symptoms? Thanks Katie 3 posts - 2 participants Read full topic ..read more

Hi my dad got diagnosed with Parkinson’s over 5 years ago. He is getting progressively worse with full body tremors and shakes. His memory is also fading since he has been diagnosed with dementia also. My mum is his main carer. He is 73 and my mum is 70. Due to his forgetfulness she gets really frustrated to the point she shouts at him. I’ve told her she needs to deal with this in a different way as he is only going to get worse. She is not coping very well even after all the years he has been diagnosed. My 12 year old daughter was there this afternoon when she shouted at him which made her ve ..read more
