Welcome to the Loving Haiti monthly newsletter from your Haitian Partners (of ten years) of the commune of Pignon.  We want to bring your attention to several developments that continue to evolve in our country. In terms of weather here, the climate has passed from cold to hot, and we are approaching the rainy season. As a result, our mountains are dry, trees are losing their leaves, and rocks are more common th ..read more

“To those who loved, love and will love, life will be exciting.” Darling included the quote, above, at the beginning of this month’s newsletter.  It seemed only fitting to include this loving photo of his family.  This month he writes: We thank God for always being with us, investing all his presence in our daily lives to prove his unlimited existence and his sovereign and permissible will. We are back with our updates, sharing little stories about the life and the functioning of the Haitian people and the people of the Pignon community.         In our everyday lives in Haiti, we often use this word which comes from the Creole “Atche!”. This word marks, among other things, astonishment in the face of any situation. For this, I use it to show you how difficult our political, social, and economic situations are, to name but a few.           The human being is the essence of life on earth but in the face of our egos, no one can better understand how to meet the daily earthly demands. The land of Haiti especially, is now worse due to lack of appreciation of innovative ideas and/or unde ..read more

Here’s what our friend, Darling, shared with us this month about the start of the school year and hurricane season:   My most distinguished and respectful greetings. August is the month when all Haitian parents in general and those of Pignon find themselves in a real puzzle for the new school year which usually begins in September of each year.
