My name is Lucie. I will be graduating from high school next month. Back in 2022 the Lord blessed me with the opportunity to be part of a service project through my church to help Haiti. I attended middle school with two friends that were from Haiti. They lived with a family in my home town for two years but then moved back to their homeland shortly before the devastating earthquake in 2021. We are pleased to share the newest member to GOALS Haiti’s team. Welcome Kety Cameau our new Program Manager. Kety comes to us after for years on community and youth development in Cite Soliel. Kety is an advocate for kids and youth and she started her career as a school teacher then worked her way up to an elementary school Director. She has a degree in law and accounting. Kety is passionate about children's health and wellbeing and has done extensive work with children who have experienced trauma such as the devastating Earthquake in 2010. Dear Friends, We are happy share our 2023 Annual Report which shares our accomplishments and the progress from the year. We continue to provide a safe and positive outlet for hundreds of kids daily. Since completing this report, the situation in Haiti has unfortunately worsened due to extreme political instability and increased gang violence. Our partnership with International Medical Response (IMR) began in 2019 with the goal of bringing medical care to the remote rural community of Destra, Haiti. IMR brought a team to provide a community health clinic and train local health agents. As part of our continued partnership, we are excited that IMR is continuing to support a GOALS alumna (Betina) in her dream of becoming a nurse by sponsoring her in nursing school. This year, as part of a new project in collaboration with 10 women led organizations from around the globe and led by Coaches Across Continents, we focused on Climate and Gender. The purpose of the project was to empower female leaders and raise awareness on how the climate crises impacts women. By increasing knowledge and confidence regarding gender and climate issues we are creating a legacy of empowered women who can become activists within their communities.
