Storytelling is an art form

Storytelling is an art form. Did you know I have a master’s degree in Library and Information Science? Well, I do and one of the most impactful classes that I took was Storytelling. Prior to the course, I barely spoke in class. In fact, my senior year of High School, my English teacher asked if she could talk to me because she was studying why students don’t participate in class and I stood out to her. There is something about being in a big crowd that leaves me wanting to observe rather than speak up. Now that I’ve been contemplating my Human Design for some time, I realize it is due to my en ..read more

Human Design Musings

I contemplate my design often... With my defined Head & Ajna, it feels like my mind never shuts off. I am constantly thinking thinking thinking and I am also using my Sacral to respond to what I am seeing about Human Design almost everyday.  It's so easy to get stuck inside my head and into a thought cycle. I recorded a podcast episode about Human Design & Anxiety and it is one of the most listened to episodes. I'm contemplating sharing an update around my relationship with anxiety. I deal with anxiety almost everyday and I face what I feel anxious around. My main trigger is aroun ..read more

Who are you learning from?
The Amymae Blog

There’s so much information out there.   Pretty much anyone can write about anything and post it online.   One of the first things I learned as a librarian is how to check your resources.   Yes, I learned it, but I don’t always apply that learning.   Shocker right?   I have this tendency to skip steps and I am not always tuning into my inner knowing that guides me as to which steps are correct to skip.   Checking and truly checking where you are getting your information from is an essential step.   Always.   No matter what.   Are you learning Human ..read more

Reflections of being a business owner

When I first set out to start an actual business, the coaches I learned from said it would be “easy”.   “Anyone can do it” they said.   “You can teach about anything as long as you are one step ahead of your students”   That started back in 2018 for me.   4 years ago.   I invested thousands and didn’t make my first dollar until September 2020.   2 years ago.   Since the first course I invested in, I spent probably over $40 THOUSAND on coaches, courses, masterminds, certifications and more.   Money I didn’t have working a part time job as a librarian (mak ..read more

Human Design changed me

When I first started getting into Human Design, it was difficult for me to find accessible information. My coach at the time, even she told me that I would need to get a certification in order to learn how to read charts. So...I signed up for a certification (and a pricey one at that) and the biggest thing I realized is that reading a Human Design chart is both as complicated and not complicated as it looks. Yes, there are many bits and pieces to your energetic blueprint and you can go so deep. But it's not necessary in order to transform your life.  I guess what I am trying to say is tha ..read more

Deconstructing Diet Culture

Deconstructing Diet Culture I see a correlation between diet culture and the spiritual coaching world (and now learning how both can be cultish).   I grew up being told that my body wasn’t good because I am fat.   My first memory of this was when I was in the third grade and the teacher asked a boy in my class how much he weighed.   He weighed less than I did and someone (I don’t really remember who exactly) said that boys should weigh more than girls.   This was the first year that I had started to wear training bras and was growing boobs (yes, THIRD grade).   In danc ..read more

Hello there!  It's been awhile since I've felt called to write on my blog. Probably because I haven't been reading as many blogs and sometimes wonder if people are even writing blogs anymore... There are soooo many things I would like to say and I believe a lot of us (not just me) not only want to speak but also feel like we are being heard. I write on social media (between my Instagram or my Facebook) mostly every day and it feels like no one is listening... Have you ever felt that way?  I've heard so many people speaking about different aspects about the coaching industry, especial ..read more

Looking at the Sun and Gates 40 & 64

Hey everyone!  One of my most requested topics has been around the gates, and what I find fascinating is playing around with the transit energy.   Each week, I will be sharing about some major energy we are moving through in these newsletters along with the specific gate’s energy.   There will also be mini lessons about the astrological aspect in Human Design.    This week’s topic: The Sun.    The Sun represents life force energy. We have the conscious (black) and the unconscious (red) for this planet. The Conscious Sun is your life’s work. This is your bran ..read more

August 22: Full Moon Aquarius in Gate 30

It’s the Full Moon in Aquarius! It’s a blue moon and this energy can feel super potent. The moon gate is in Gate 30: The Gate of Feelings.    I started working with the moon cycles last year and it’s changed my life. As someone whose body craves consistency, I started out just using the new and full moon as a time to be consistent in my intention setting and releasing what no longer serves me.   I listened to watch each moon cycle meant, but didn’t let myself get overwhelmed with the details.    New moon = time to set intentions/declare desires I am manifesting. Full m ..read more
