I spent a cheeky 36 hours in Weymouth during the April Easter holidays. A quick and easy getaway was on the radar for a while, and as Weymouth was somewhere I had not yet been, I can now say Weymouth should most definitely be on your list of places to visit. Particularly, if you want to get out of London! I couldn't wait to explore the Jurassic Coast and some of the biggest attractions in Dorset. Here are my 12 Best things to do in Weymouth, Dorset. 1) Visit Weymouth Pier Well, you cant visit Weymouth without taking a walk on the Pier, across the beach watching the waves crash in the ocean. If I'm being honest, Italian food has to be my least favourite although I love a good pizza. Other than that, it is not my regular go-to food. So when I arrived in Dorset on a mid-Sunday afternoon, I knew I wouldn't be spoilt for choice for dinner. I didn't think to search around for restaurants near me, because I received a list from the hotel host prior to my stay. When I quickly realised that many of the places were closed, my online search did not continue. I was tempted to search for restaurants near me, halal being my preference, but I decided to leave it to my luck. Whatever was open wo ..read more

When I booked my trip to Dorset, a visit to Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door was surely on the top of my list. Known as the UNESCO World Heritage site, I was so excited to inhale some breathtaking air within its vicinity! The pictures on the blog pages across the internet looked amazing, somewhere I unquestionably wanted to visit. I wasn't aware of the one-hour hike, but if I had known before, it probably would have put me off and denied me such an incredible experience. I checked the bus schedule and they were scheduled to arrive every three hours or so, I had to catch the 9.45 am bus. I departe ..read more

It was finally time for my travel partner to travel without me. My son has become my travel partner and the only travel partner I desire at this point in time. So when my mum booked a Caribbean getaway for him this year, I was like "Aaaah! yes, I'm free for a week!.. but what am I going to do?" Torn between global travelling, staying home, or a short break I wondered what I'd do. So I scoured the internet looking for short UK breaks, (last minute.) I didn't want to be too far away from home, and I wanted to go somewhere I hadn't been before. I finally decided to visit Dorset, Weymouth to be sp ..read more

It's no surprise that travelling while being black is hard. Not to whinge, but many things can be just that little bit harder while travelling - being black, or a person of colour. Next month, my son who is also my travel partner, travels without me and I'm wondering where I can go and still feel safe... (alone) Blog ..read more

Good reviews prompted me to travel with Air France among the other available airlines that were within my price budget. Initially, my top choice was to fly to Mauritius with Emirates as I had travelled with them before and loved it. I had never travelled with Air Mauritius and looked forward to travelling with them as they are operated through Air France. I booked my flight through a trusted travel agent, who recommended Air France and Air Mauritius. I was booked in to travel with Air France to Paris, and then Air Mauritius, from Paris to Mauritius.
