Thanks to @Parsonsaj, I just learned about 'Camp' NaNoWriMo, which takes place in April and July. I was feeling a little left out from NaPoWriMo, but poetry's not my jam.
I started a new goal to rewrite the draft I wrote for NaNo 2023 and with the @Proteus December Pact.
In case anyone is interested in joining me. My handle is TJ Waters

@Proteus, we are coming into the home stretch. Let's kick each other's butts to the finish line.
Here is my pledge: Rewrite Chapter 25 to Chapter 48. These got a little wild and crazy .... loose ... the writing, I mean ... not the characters.
I believe we said April 30 to complete this pact. I'll let you add your pledge.

Hi everyone. I completed NaNoWriMo with 54k words, but now I'm working toward 62k and then a full first revision using the Story Grid Method. I'm hoping to have a full first revision by the 15th of January, due mostly to grading and whatnot.
Currently, I'm at 57.6k and writing the epic face-off between my story's villain Alphonse De Floof and my protagonist Sir Bullstein. It's taking me a bit more time because I'm trying to make the villain's attack a surprise that leans in their favor at...

I started late to the party, just officially signing up today and getting my first couple of writing sessions in a day late, but I'm off to the races.
This year I'm doing a sci-fi horror story I've had in my head for a few years now. I'll share more details about it in the NaNoWriMo Lounge, as it is something I am definitely interested in publishing at a later date.
I'm still behind a bit for where I should be on day two, but I've got in 2631 words in today and still have a couple hours...

This is my first NaNoWriMo -- and it's not started well. I haven't been able to do anything due to personal issues causing exhaustion and I can barely keep my eyes open.
So, tomorrow, I'm going to work on a couple of different chapters. Who says it has to be done chronologically?
I will be working on OTaF.
Good luck to all my fellow participants.

I have always thought this challenge was not for me, but I am interested this year. It was something @indianroads said.
Can someone please explain how it works? Do you pledge to write 40k words in November? Is there a place you must register? Must you upload your MS somewhere? Can you work on a current WIP? Must you finish it to the end if it's more than 40K? Anything else I should know?
Is anyone else planning on participating ..read more

I've heard of NaNoWriMo from friends and understand that it is a challenge to write a given number of words in a month, but don't know more than that.
Just a thought, but it would be nice is there were a sticky on this channel to let people know details. How to post your progress, who tracks it, etc.
Glancing through the few posts here, it looks as though it is only once a year. A point of which I was previously unaware ..read more

I've been participating, not so much since this challenge arrives in November (normally not a good month for me with the Thanksgiving holiday and our anniversary (43 years on the 24th), but my plan for this fall is to finish all my WIPs or get pretty damned close to that.
What NaNo does do for me is make me track the words more stringently, which does provide a bit more impetus to keep production up.
I haven't been updating in a thread here since many of us update our progress in the...
