The writing app Tome

This app, Tome keeps popping up in my feed. It just seems to help keep you organized on the project. But I can’t really get the feel if it’s right for me. Has anyone tried it out? What’s your feedback? I currently organize in Scrivener and I like that I can shuffle stuff around. Would one use these as complements to each other? It appears Tome may have some coaching aspects, to get you through the muddy middle. submitted by /u/Twinmommy62015 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Since the unpleasantness surrounding the main organization, I was sad that I wouldn't get my certificate for winning camp this month. Thankfully, my wonderful wife made one up for me and I wanted to share it with others who value the certs as much as I do. Here is a png version of the certificate. And here is a high quality PDF version. To all participants, I hope your camp went well and keep up the great work! Edit: Quick warning, my wife says there's no bleed or margin, so if you do want to get this printed, that's something you might have to look out for. I don't know what any of that mean ..read more

Hello everyone! Around 50 days ago I posted that I had surgery upcoming and that I could really use some advice on how to plot the first draft of my novel, I got a lot of amazing feedback and I got cracking making the protagonist the world and the characters however recently i've been absolutely struggling to plot the story of my book and its really starting to wear on me. It's gotten to the point where whenever I think of my novel's story I get lost on where to start and how to follow through. I end up so nervous that my stomach just feels like bile so I just try to shut out thinking about i ..read more

NaNo's advertised writing competition

So, I have some concerns with NaNo's recent advertising for a short story competition to have your work placed in an anthology from the LA region. In the "competition"'s FAQ it states that winners are not paid, and the editors are not paid. The competition is purely to appear in the anthology. For something to be a competition, there needs to be some kind of winning. This anthology is self-published on Amazon, FOR PROFIT! In past years the FAQs have stated that proceeds from sales go to NaNo, but that does not appear this year. And even so, if sales generate income, then there should be some ..read more

Is the NaNoWriMo website inaccessible?

I log in using Facebook and always have. I could not log in all of April. I wasn't doing Camp NaNo this year, but it still would have been nice to log in and get all of my progress data (word counts) and other information I had put there copied over and moved on to somewhere for myself. Is there a fix for this? submitted by /u/TheShadowslair [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

So I signed up for the NaNoWriMo website/forums today and discovered they imploded. What do I do now? I'm looking for a writing buddy.

Also the forums seem crazy-unintuitive and I hate trying to navigate them. Also I don't know how to find a regional discord. Although I'm not picky about what Discord I join. Either way, I really want a writing buddy, and I don't know where to begin. submitted by /u/Waterlemon_Melonade [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
