It all began with an idea…
We use our watches to help us keep track of time physically. But watches don’t tell us what the best use of time might be spiritually.
So, as New Year 2024 approached, we knew the concept needed to be centered around “time”, but we needed an accessory idea that conveyed using time wisely. That idea was watchbands!
So we produced a series of engraved bands that remind us to PRAY, KEEP GOD FIRST, and to think about things FROM ABOVE (the meaning of “ANOTHEN”).
With the release of this new accessory at ANOTHEN.COM we wrote blogs that went more in d ..read more

In honor of Father-figures Day, this blog discusses important qualities and impacts of good fathering.
In the Bible, God’s symbolic use of human fatherhood conveys character traits that help us relate to various aspects of God and help men to be great fathers.
Coaching through Adversities
To mature, we all must face adversities and overcome our challenges. Fathers play a special role in helping their children overcome their fears and limitations.
"The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to b ..read more

This past Sunday was Pentecost. Often called “the birthday of the Christian church.”
This reminded us how birthdays essentially celebrate the gift of life. Technically, according to Scripture, humans can have two birthdays… a physical and a spiritual; because the Bible teaches that humanity was meant to have both physical life (soul) and spiritual life (spirit).
Jesus Christ spoke of humanity’s need to be spiritually born as an ancient truth and a fact of life - not a fad, slogan or new kind of denomination:
“3Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot ..read more

In honor of Mother's Day, this post discusses the important role a mother plays in our spiritual growth.
Obeying and honoring our parents may be a sensitive subject in today’s western culture, but, in The Bible, honoring our mothers (and fathers) is a commandment. It began in the Old Testament and continues to be required in the New Testament:
“1Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. 2Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) 3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” [Ephesians ..read more

Prayer is a crucial discipline in life, connecting us to God, the Creator of life.
Despite skepticism from non-practitioners, those who pray recognize its benefits for themselves and those they pray for. Scientific research even acknowledges its psychological and social advantages.
According to Scripture, understanding the kinds, methods, and impacts of prayer is essential for it to yield results. Many places in The Bible underscore the importance of prayer in establishing a relationship with God and navigating life's challenges.

There were many important and historic moments in Jesus Christ's life. This particular week in history marks the events of his crucifixion, death and burial (on Wednesday), and resurrection on Saturday.
"Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again." [Luke 18:31-33 ..read more

It is difficult to determine and manage priorities as our lives change. What is important to us at one stage will change. With so many commitments and responsibilities it can be hard to know what to put FIRST - and that leaves our lives feeling very unstable.
Culture has plenty of ideas as to what ought to be first - and none of them are about GOD...
"put yourself first"
"put others first"
"put family first"
"put your career ambitions first"
Many of us may have made these choices at one time or another and found that none of these wor ..read more

"He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which produces its fruit in its proper season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers." {Psalm 1:3}
Scripture was designed to nurture our lives by showing us which influences are beneficial and which are harmful. It also gives us clear standards, examples and instructions to identify and leverage good influences and avoid and correct bad ones.
Psalm 1:3 summarizes what life is like for someone who uses their knowledge of Scripture to choose good influences over wrong ones… (See Psalm 1 ..read more

Maybe you have heard that “life comes with no instructions”…
It sounds like a FACT… But, in reality statements like this have a subtle way of ignoring and shading some VERY obvious TRUTHS…
THE POINT: “Life coming with no instructions” might be a POPULAR opinion, but it is NOT a BIBLICAL truth.
Here are some scriptures about this topic:
2 Peter 1:3 - God's divine power has given us everything we need for life (in all of its manifestations) and for godliness (godly character developed only via intimate relationship with God). This power was given to us through knowledge of the one who call ..read more
