There were 3,087 multiracial students enrolled in Lorain County schools in the 2022-23 school year, 3.6% more than the previous year, according to reports from the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.
Data showed that Lorain County welcomed 41,345 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 7.5% of the student body to be the second least represented ethnicity in the county.
Among the 84 schools in Lorain County, Elyria High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 276 students.

Of the 311,737 citizens living in Lorain County in 2021, 77.9% were old enough to vote, equating to 242,827 individuals, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained on Oct. 26.
Further breakdown reveals that of the voting-eligible population, 118,919 were male, constituting 49%, and 123,908 were female, making up 51%.
The percentage of citizens old enough to vote in Lorain County during 2021 was higher than the state average, which stands at 77.7%.

Lorain County government offices have announced their operating hours and closures for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, 2024.
The Clerk of Courts office at the Lorain County Justice Center will be open until noon on the day of the eclipse, with no court proceedings taking place. All other offices in the building will be closed for the day, and the building itself will shut its doors at noon.
