Received an over the air (OTA) notice yesterday that the HPFP in our '18 X5 35d has been recalled again. I've got a notice into my local SA to see if they have parts, but I am doubtful they even know about the recall yet. There are not that many diesels in the Boise area so it seems like our local dealer is amongst the last to get notices like this. I am assuming that the F10 ds also have their fuel pumps recalled, but our '14 535d has a 3G combox and gets nothing OTA anymore. Anyone... CP4 HPFP recall.... again ..read more

Hello Everyone, I have worked on many diesel light duty trucks older and newer but the BMW diesels are completely new to me. I have a 2012 X5 diesel that has had no troubles for 60k miles. Not long ago, the check engine light came on. No drivability problems whatsoever though. Dealer pulled P045 code. Low pressure egr was replaced along with some vacuum lines. For the last 8+ months I've been driving my "d" mainly on short supermarket/pharmacy/soccer practice runs.I'm sure that the DPF hasn't liked that one bit. But I have a 700+ mile road trip coming up (eastern Quebec...eclipse viewing),most of which will be on Interstates (65-70mph). Just purchased this 2011 335d 202,678miles with all the engine codes on for dpf,EGR, so car was in limp mode I test drove it ran fine in limp mode got up to highway speeds didn’t hear anything out of the ordinary got back listen to it run sounds great. Since about November 2023 I’ve been getting occasional 004BC2 DTCs. I recently noticed the correlation with leaving a store, less than a minute later and if I accelerate rapidly. Since it blocks DPF regeneration I just clear the error and go on. I’ve done the service plan short of replacing the MAF, which I will do in a few weeks in conjunction with other stuff at the dealer (swap to summer tires, replace GWS). I got the following problems: Check engine appeared, the fault codes are: 3FF1 Air Mass Measurement 40A4 Exhaust-Gas recirculation controller, long-term drift 41BB Exhaust backpressure sensor The car felt as it was missing few hp. On my next oil change I was thinking about trying out Red line oil. Bimmer world has an oil change kit with it. Anybody have any experience with it.
