I am hoping for some guidance. I have a 2016 Colorado diesel with about 190k and have experienced the truck flashing the "Service Trailer Brake System" warning and the engine died. It would not restart. This has happened twice so far and both times have been with no prior warning of anything wrong. Having a nightmare with the chevy Colorado!! Was having emission issues needing a new dpf. Daughter was driving and vehicle died. Did a delete on the vehicle and wouldn't start. Diving into it and could see i wasn't getting enough fuel pressure at the rail. So replaced the fuel rail which includes regulator and pressure switch. Still no start. I purchased the truck on Saturday, 2017 Colorado Z71 2.8 Duramax, had no issues until Tuesday, and went to the gym first thing in the morning no click, or anything. Put a charger on the battery and left with my old Silverado. When I got home nothing changed called my local mechanic and he brought down a Jump pack, but nothing, started inspecting the distribution block clipped to the Battery and found that the left terminal to the inside side of the battery to the 400A MEGA fuse was not... Can anyone tell me what the big tube is that runs front to back on the driver's side of the engine is? I've got it marked with the blue arrow. Is it part of the air intake? It seems that it came separated at the hose clamp. The photo is from before I reseated the tube and tightened the clamp. There was an oily deposit on the parts below the tube (see second picture), I am guessing that it came from this loose spot and I might have fixed it, but I am wondering what it is and why it might be... oily deposits on top of engine ..read more

Hi everyone just wanted to share what happened to me lately with my 2.8 duramax. The reluctor ring magnet broke making the crankshaft position sensor not read correctly. And because of that it would only crank and no start can't remember the code I got but it was for the crankshaft position sensor saying it was bad . But it wasn't so it was the reluctor ring which is located behind the flywheel. When I purchased the truck, it seemed to have been sitting for quite some time so the front rotors rusted over to the point that a couple thousand miles of driving didn't knock the rust off. The rears were replaced prior to me buying the truck so they were in very good shape. I have a 2020 Diesel Colorado with 160k on it. I have this P1089 code intermittently. The dealer has looked at it and changed the #2 fuel pressure sensor and the fuel filters. This has been an issue for over 30k miles. Chevy wants the dealer to change the fuel rail with some lines for just under $2k and if that doesn't work all the injectors for $4k and they are not sure either will fix the problem. 185,000 miles on original DPF and it clogged up after a turbo hose leak, I replaced it with one from Chevrolet DPF - Colorado 2.8L 2016-2022 from W&L Inc. (WL-1034US). Really not too hard to do, I would recommend buying pressure sensor lines and EGT #5.
