My truck is on a diet and I’ve recently switched to 5-40 because I don’t like how low the psi gets with the 30 when towing. However I called amsoil to see what they would recommend between the heavy duty or the signature oil for that application and I must say amsoil has the worst people to talk to in other words a**holes. The guy there immediately got aggressive at the mention of running 40 weight oil then started spouting out how only the dexos 2 oil they made was the only thing that...

Have a P1476 which I’m working on. Would like to clear it but I also have Permanent code P20E8. Will clearing the other codes promote an on set of the limp mode countdown due to the presence of the Permanent code?
Currently the remote start feature is not responding. This has me worried as that seems to be a pre cursor of worse things to come.
Thanks ..read more

Saw the great informative post on replacing the def pump and will be doing that once I use more def and determine I have the time hopefully that will mitigate the P1050 code.
With all that being said will/does that have anything to do with why I am getting 150-250miles per regen? Has anyone used the foam DPF cleaner highly considering it as I already have the foam ..read more

Going on the theory that the updated injectors mostly solved the injector failures on the earlier motors; has anyone tried to convert an engine that came with the old injectors, to use the new injectors? I saw it mentioned somewhere that the plumbing needed to be changed, but perhaps everything else was compatible. And maybe @GreenDiesel could comment on whether an updated tune would be required if the injector swap were even possible ..read more

I had an account here for a long time but seem to not be able to log into it so built a new one.
I have a 19 ZR2 with a dead cylinder and zero compression. Seems to be the classic broken injector tip issue that over fueled and melted a hole in the piston. The engine still runs on 3 cylinders but so much blow by it is puking oil out the rear main seal. Waiting on the GM dealership to pull the injector to inspect and bore scope the piston.
my immediate question is will a later model LMW...

I picked up a P2002 Sensor error on my way back from AR while towing a 4800Lb RV. I cleared the errors and prayed there wouldn't be any major issues on my 560 mile trip home.
I also noticed a permanent error P2002 that won't clear until I fix the problem. I found a thread that shows the sensor located above the passenger side frame rail at the rear axle. So far I haven't noticed any performance issues.
My question is about the location of the pressure sensor hose locations. Differential...

Check them.....mine has a nice hole from the fuse box. We patched it while ate is sending me new ones. I reworked it the best I could but for some reason there is literally no way that silicone boot fits in there without hitting both the fuse box or this little bracket behind the alternator. I know every truck is different slightly with tolerances. I shaved down the corner of the fuse box which helped slightly. Can anyone give any pointers....Neither myself or my mechanic can get it to...
