Hello fellow AV'ers. I'm wondering if anyone might know where I can order a specific part for a legacy Panasonic PJ? I have a bad Lense control and can't seem to track it down other than buying a "Parts" unit. I'll post pics. The part is XM150-796 14HB0277. This is my last resort and fully understand if it's simply something I won't be able to get. Thanks ..read more

Epson 4010 - I'm having trouble understanding the pixel-shifting functionality

Hello! I own an Epson 4010 projector. I understand that it uses pixel-shifting to project a 4K image, but I seem to be getting mixed information about whether or not this is a setting that can be turned on and off. I read somewhere that the "Image Preset Mode" setting controls the pixel-shifting. Then I read somewhere else that the "4K Enhancement" setting turns on pixel-shifting when it's receiving a 4K signal. But that setting is grayed out for me. But then I read somewhere else that... Need a 4k projector for a 16 foot throw

Bummer Very sad panda here. I just picked up the 4550i and found that the throw distance was to large for the projector and my 110" screen (Dark Energy Elite with I believe .9 gain). I had assumed it would work as I am replacing my now dead 5040UB (dead power supply) after 7 years. I really don't want to fork out the $ for the LS11000 but it would appear that I'm stuck if I want to reuse that screen in this space. Does anybody have any other recommendations for a non light controlled... Need a 4k projector for a 16 foot throw ..read more

AE-4000 died, looking for replacement suggestions

My trusty Panny died and now I'm looking for a replacement. For the $$$, it seems like the Epson 3200/3800 is the way to go. Does anyone have any thoughts? I want to stay under $ 2,000$, and these two seem the best bang for the buck. I am not married to LCD, but I can't exactly center the picture from my mount so it seems like LCD would be better because they tend to have a Horizontal shift feature. It's not a lot of shift, just a few degrees...ish. Anyway, just checking the hive... AE-4000 died, looking for replacement suggestions ..read more

Unique Projector Need: Portable w/ Different Amounts of Space and Obstacles

I loan a projector out (for free) to swim clubs to use for movie nights. I have a healthy audio setup, but am looking for a projector setup that has some flexibility. I never could have guessed how big of a rabbit hole my research would take me down. Here is my challenge: each facility has a different layout. While some facilities have plenty of space to project across the facility, some would require a short throw or rear projection. My gut tells me that a short/rear projector is... ViewSonic PX701-4K looks 1080p?

Hi everyone, bought a new ViewSonic PX701-4K after trying a refurbished TK800m but not liking it, and weirdly enough, the projector looks 1080p? The source says it's receiving 4K fine, but if I look at it up close I can definitely see the pixels on small text and such, compared to my 4K TV where I can not. Is this normal? Never heard of such issues with this projector before and I'm kinda bummed if that's the video quality I get. I expected more. Thanks in advance, Charles PS: See the... 04182024 released Translated from Chinese TVs are rolled out every year, so why not projectors? The new Dangbei D6X Pro projector that I just got comes with a “mobile phone” as a gift. Although this "mobile phone" is in quotation marks, it has been applied to projectors and has brought many new ideas in terms of human-computer interaction. Let’s start the projector 3.0 era in a new way. 01/Appearance The new Dangbei D6X Pro released this time has made great... Dangbei D6X Pro Laser ..read more

Why do some 4k blurays not play on my 1080p projector?

I have a little 1080p projector from Amazon and a ub820 BluRay player. I can play most of my 4k discs but some like my Top Gun Maverick 4k just says “this blu ray is designed for 4k devices” in every human language. Why do most play but not that one? There’s other ones that just stay black screen. I am wondering if I get a 1080 projector like the Epson 2150 will I still have this problem? Thanks ..read more

Looking to replace my old Epson 6500ub: how does Benq H4550i compare?

Finally time to replace my Epson Home Cinema 6500ub. It's been a good projector but the fan is starting to get noisy and it sporadically shuts down. Trying to figure out what to replace it with. I really would like to go for a laser/led projector and not have to deal with lamps anymore. For the features I need/want (horizontal & vertical lens shift, 3D) that the Benq H4550i would be my best bet. But all the reviews I read comment on the middling contrast and washed out blacks and that... Looking to replace my old Epson 6500ub: how does Benq H4550i compare ..read more
