ProjectorScreen.com, the world's leading online retailer of projectors and screens teamed up with Projector Central to host the 2023 Laser TV Showdown.
At last week's ultra short throw projector contest we assembled the largest collection of ultra short throw projectors into a showdown to determine the absolute best. It was a fierce battle between the top brands in the market. After hours of testing and deliberation, the judges picked a winner.
Based on the judge's votes, the Formovie Theater took 1st place for the 2nd year in a row over several major electronics brands ..read more

Hola, friends.
I've looked at all the intro threads and they seem a little out of date for the information I'm trying to find in regards to short throw and ultra short throw, so I hope I don't insult any of you with TRULY basic questions.
So... just bought a house. We're going to convert half of the garage into a theater space and I think the room will be roughly 9x11 with just under 8 foot ceilings. I'll be future proofing the room for sound upgrades but will initially b ..read more

A while ago the last time I was in a Best Buy Magnolia center they had a good selection of projectors, A/V receivers, and HDMI cables on display (Some 8K HDMI cables run around $995 and are close to the 8K flat panel screens that are on display). While Best Buy Magnolia centers do have ceiling mounted projectors on display that are better than most ultra short throw projectors. Best Buy Magnolia centers also have the high-quality Hisense brand of ultra short throw projectors that are made in China. Like almost all consumer DLP projector brands that are labeled 4K resolution, the current genera ..read more

Hi,
Love the idea of a UST and retracting screen for a massive screen experience without a huge black box on the wall, but struggling to get my head round how these look/work in the ‘real world’, with furniture/various devices (and speakers) plugged in, lots of reviews + promotional pictures just seem to have the UST on the floor.
Curious to see how these look in real homes, would be great to see a before and after opening comparison. Any pics that could be shared (or home Theater galleries I could be pointed toward) would be great ..read more

Hello all, just picked up the LS12000 to replace the 5040ub, and I have a lot of problems out of the gate.
Equipment list (note that all firmware is up to date, and HDMI cord specifications are a guess). All cords and settings were working with the same pathways while connected to the 5040ub.
RECEIVER
Pioneer VSX 933 (Hub)
15 or 20-foot in wall CL2 HDMI 2.0 (?) connects Projector to receiver.
Both HDMI and projector power cable share same pathway through celling / wall, out to power outlet.
SOURCES
Panasonic UB820P-K (4K player) / HDMI 2.1 to receiver
Sony UBP X700 (4K player) / HDMI 2.0 to ..read more
