Hello everyone,
I hope you're all having a splendid September! It's my absolute favourite month, I love the (slightly) colder temperatures and crisp mornings. Plus seeing the leaves changing colours is my absolute favourite thing about Toronto (yes I know it isn't the best place to see them change, but it still is my favourite).
I have a few things happen this month that I wanted to update you about...

There are two new posts up on the blog!

So you've been researching the absolute best tattoo artist for your new tattoo, and you've made the big decision to travel to get the perfect piece?! That's amazing!!! That's always the best way to go about getting a tattoo (IMO).
Whether this is your first tattoo or just the first piece you are travelling for, there are a few things to consider before you book in.
The first thing to do is take a look at the place you'll be heading! You are travelling all that way, so why not make it into a trip and see the best of what the area has to offer? Or perhaps there is somewhere close by that yo ..read more

Hi Anh,
Thank you so much for taking part in this blog series! I'm excited to chat with you about your rabbit tattoo we did in in August 2021 at Black Cloud Tattoos, so over two years ago!
Here's the photo I took when it was freshly done (for the readers)...
Was this your first tattoo or had you been tattooed before?
Anh: This is not my first tattoo. I already have one full sleeve and couple of small tattoos here and there. However, this was the first big leg tattoo that I have.
What made you decide to get this particular tattoo?
A: When I got this tatoo, I have just recent ..read more

Hey everyone,
I hope you've been having a marvellous summer.
August was super busy for me, but really fun. It's not been too hot for this time of year, and I've secretly been loving all the thunderstorms we've been having in Toronto.
I've had an incredible bunch of clients visiting the studio and getting great tattoos. I haven't had much flash up recently as I've been so busy setting up the new studio, but I've had tonnes of amazing custom tattoo projects. From narwhal and beluga buddies to full decorative floral sleeves, it's all been amazing. I'm so grateful to the incredib ..read more

Hi Jaya!
Thanks for taking part in this interview :)
So let’s start back at the beginning, from my records we finished your full leg tattoo in August of 2021, so it's been two years since it's been complete, but we started your project in December of 2018!! So you've actually been living with this tattoo for a long time!
Here's how your tattoo looked at your final sitting(s), in photos and video for the readers...
Let's start with the basics... was this your first tattoo or had you been tattooed before?
Jaya: I had lots of small tattoos before this piece but this was my biggest tat ..read more

So you took the leap and you've got a tattoo booked? Congrats! Here are some useful tips on how to prepare for your upcoming appointment.
In my experience, before getting tattooed you definitely should NOT:
Get your tan on! Sunburn is not your friend
Party - alcohol thins your blood and getting tattooed hungover is the WOOORST
Fast - yes I know intermittent fasting is good for you (so they say) but if you don’t eat before you get a tattoo you’ll end up unconscious and nobody wants that
Use that fancy ass new lotion - nobody wants irratated skin before a tattoo
Caffeinate - here’s the thi ..read more
