AAA Travel expects there will be a significant number of Georgians planning to travel this Memorial Day holiday weekend. According to AAA’s 2023 Memorial Day Travel Forecast, 1.3 million Georgians will journey 50 miles or more. That’s 86,000 more than last year and 13,000 more than before the pandemic, in 2019.
Georgia air travel numbers are set to reach a new record high. An estimated 1.2 million Georgians will drive, which is 70,000 more than last year. Meanwhile, 114,000 are forecast to fly, which is 12,000 more passengers than last year’s holiday.

Kruze Consulting, a leading CPA and finance consulting company for VC-backed startups, has released new data on startup CEO salaries. The average startup CEO salary in 2023 is $142,000, down from $150,000 in 2022 and $146,000 in 2021 and back to the same level as 2019. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia (USG) voted today to name Dr. Michael P. “Mike” Shannon as the sole finalist for president of the University of North Georgia (UNG).
Shannon, a retired U.S. Army officer, currently serves as interim executive vice president for Administration and Finance and interim chief business officer at Georgia Tech.

PCOM Georgia held its annual commencement ceremony on May 23, this year graduating 283 physicians, pharmacists, physical therapists, physician assistants, biomedical scientists and medical laboratory scientists.
