Hello guys,  I'm interested in what options do I have to make a border run from Phuket preferably by air this July? Russian passport, 39 years old, never did border runs before. Came to Thailand in April (left september last year after 1 year ED), got 90 days exemption (can not change to other type, only leave the country). a) I was thinking of Hat Yai (1h 38$ direct flight at 7:50AM) + van but couldn't find any info on border-run-agents in there. Just go to the usual bus terminal where the vans depart every 30minutes to Padang Besar? 100b go through border and back? Will train be bette ..read more

Hi, I am a Thai PR here for many years now, I am marrying my non-Thai wife soon and will obtain a Non-O visa for her. But when I read the instructions on obtaining a spouse visa under number 6 on the immigration website (https://www.immigration.go.th/?page_id=2506), the title says "Apply for or request a change of visa type – to give or receive patronage from a person of Thai nationality or a resident of the Kingdom (in the case of marriage) (Code O)". According to this, my wife-to-be should be eligible for this visa as well, right?   I know that under number 8 on the same website there i ..read more

E-visa and opening bank account

My mother has just moved to Thailand from the UK on an O-A Retirement visa, issued before she left, to live with us. In order to extend it she needs to open a bank account. Of course, there are the usual difficulties with this, but there is now a new one.   The London Embassy no longer issues physical visas. They only issue E-visas, which you must apply for online. There is therefore no visa sticker in her passport, only an entry stamp with her visa type scrawled in biro by the officer. Of course, an entry stamp is relatively easy to fake, so the banks are not accepting her passport becau ..read more

I hold a UK passport and I currently reside in Laos with a Lao Business (non-working) visa.   Last month I visited Bangkok for my Thai son's graduation ceremony.  I flew into Swampy and entered using the Visa on Arrival route, returning back to Laos the following day.   Next week I will fly into Swampy using a VoA and stay for 1 week of holiday, then flying back to Laos.   But then I plan to return to Bangkok a few weeks later for a personal visit, flying into Swampy and using the VoA system.   My question:  Will I be denied entry into Thailand on my 3rd VoA visit ..read more
