Hi, I had a 6MM incidental find lung nodule, monitored yearly with no growth. On the 3rd year this past February it was 9MM. Pulmonologist said biopsy or remove. I made appt to follow up but visited a specialist from NYU meantime to get second opinion. This DR said biopsy or remove. I am 47, i was a more then 20-year smoker and my father had lung cancer in his 40's. My father had a lobectomy and survived; he is now 80 years old.
The second DR told me He advises removing instead of biopsy since its growing it should be removed anyway. I scheduled the removal in April, I have a PET scan sc ..read more

Hello, I have had Lung nodules going on 8 years since I had bowel surgery and when coming out of surgery had to be kept on a ventilator for 2 weeks due to raspatory failure (30 years of smoking) . I have COPD consisting of emphysema, chronic bronchitis and asthma. I quit smoking when in the hospital in 2016 with the above mentioned surgery. I had 2 small nodules due to scar tissue that have been stable in size and shape. in a recent CT scan (12-2023) another nodule showed and was solid and spiculated. I since have had two other CT scans and it has tripled in size in 3 months to 7.7mm. I ..read more

moment with this disease. As usual my wonderful support system is available to help when ever I need them. In the meantime I continue creating goals to live for and experience with my family. Non are exotic or from any made up bucket list. However every goal I reach becomes a memory for me and my family to hold on to forever. They provide me the will to go forward and face the days I can survive knowing what this disease is known to do to many of us with this diagnosis ..read more

I was diagnosed with 4th stage cancer metastisized at size 7 with 2 blood clots all in my left lung and lymph nodes. I was loaded with fluid at time of diagnosing believing I had pneumonia and learning my real diagnosis. I went into emergency surgury for a perichondrial window to keep the fluid building up around my heart and had over 4 cups of liquid drained out of my back that was surrounding my lungs. This was a little over 2 years ago. My oncologist refused to give me a time that my life may expire and for that I thank him everyday. A few months ago he told me my time expected was 3 to 6 m ..read more

Hi everyone,
It is the first time I am writing in a forum. I am in search of some answers for my uncle who is a smoker for years and now is suggested to get a biopsy done on a lung nodule.
I need to find if the needle biopsy will also be able to provide the staging of the cancer or only for the cancer determination?
Also wondering if anyone can share a sample lung cancer biopsy report. Only need to understand the difference in the report details from biopsy for nodule diagnosis and a biopsy for lung cancer staging.
Thanks  ..read more

I am posting this because it is newer than what I found when I was first diagnosed. It may be helpful to anyone who has this diagnosis. Not sure if I should post somewhere else?

Edit: What is the easiest way to find my old posts? Appreciate any help. I was very on top of things then so it might help me now. Thx ..read more

I have a spot on my abdomen that is new and it has me concerned. I had an appointment with my primary that was canceled due to a massive ice storm! I have not been able to reschedule yet. I do have a scan scheduled for Feb 14th but I don't know if a CT scan is much good detecting skin metastasis. I am begining to get a tad ansey.
My question is has any one had any experience with this type of metastasis or could direct me to some decent information. What I have found on Dr Google is not very informative (is it me, or has Google lost some of it's mojo?)
Unfortunately I am getting the feeling th ..read more
