Bilang pagkilala sa natamong pinakamataas na produksyon ng palay sa bansa na umabot sa 20.06 million metric tons nitong taong 2023, nagsagawa ang DA-PhilRice ng rice paddy art sa FutureRice farm.
Ito ay nagsisilbing pagsaludo sa isinasagawang pagsisikap upang mapataas ang ani ng ating mga magsasaka.
Sa pagsasagawa ng rice paddy art na ito, nakilahok ang 70 PhilRice staff gamit ang dalawang barayti ng palay na PSB Rc10 at tradisyunal na purple rice na kung saan makikita ang imahe matapos ang isang buwan.

On April 19, 2024, the Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rice Research Institute (DA-PhilRice), through the Office of the Government Corporate Counsel (OGCC), received the decision of the Court of Appeals upholding the Writ of Kalikasan against the vitamin A-enriched Golden Rice in the Philippines.
The decision revokes the biosafety permit for commercial propagation of Golden Rice, which was issued by the Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Plant Industry in July 2021.

Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) is partnering with an inter-governmental, non-profit organization in identifying a potential biocontrol agent that may help stave off infestations of fall armyworm (FAW).
In an April 11 meeting, the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International (CABI) reaffirmed its assistance in controlling possible FAW outbreaks on rice fields, which was first recorded in Cagayan in May 2021.

The Philippine Rice Research Institute (PhilRice) has introduced four public hybrid varieties that are cheaper than their counterparts in a technology demonstration farm called “rice derby,” available for viewing during the recent 17th National Rice Technology Forum (NRTF) in Sto.
