What was your experience like? What worked the best? I need some solidarity right now lol
Training or playing with him is almost impossible without getting bit. He gets enough sleep, 2 hr nap and 1 hour up. Yelping makes him growl and shake.. I’ve heard it gets worse when they start teething… He’s only 8 weeks old

My brother got a new puppy that he brings around sometimes. It's a puppy, puppy. Like, small, but my older dog seems to be fighting for dominance with it. And I don't mean weak old, she's still very much in her prime, and she's strong. I just mean older than the puppy. My older dog hasn't had a lot of interactions with other dogs, since covid lockdown everything she never really had any experiences. When this new puppy arrived it would do things like, mounting, attempted humping, paw-on-head, trying to stand up on her, taking her bed even after she tries to get him out. she never lets him do ..read more

Dog destroyed a library book. Yeah, it was left down. Don’t kick me more please. But it shows she isn’t ready to be loose when I am not able to 100% monitor her, even for a short time. Turn my back or go to the main building for any time at all and shes going to be crated. It sucks but it could kill her with some things that she could decide to get into. It “saves” money today because she won’t eat leashes to get off the tether and she wont eat the wall trying to get off the tether. But for me… destroying books breaks my heart some. She had been doing so good with unsupervised loose time too ..read more

my 14 week old toy poodle will not move at all on the harness. it’s always a struggle. we have puppy classes tonight and walking on harness and leash is needed so idk what to do. i’ve made sure it’s adjusted to fit her comfortable and she can run if she really wants to but 99% she just sits or lays down. i’m not sure why or what to do. i’ve been trying to slowly desensitize her over a couple days and associating it with treats and play but as soon as the harness comes on she just completely stops listening to me and refuses to me. she’s had it on 3-4x total now. she knows come and will re ..read more

I have a beagle-basset hound named Watson, he's six years old (seven in December), I also have two other dogs. We feed all of my dogs in different rooms--one in the kitchen, one in the living room, Watson by the stairs.
And when it is dinner time, Watson runs to the stairs to wait. And barks as loudly as he possibly can the entire time. We do not understand why he does this. Recently, when he stops barking, I've simply stopped preparing the bowls and stand where he can see me so that he knows that as long as he is barking, he will not be fed.
What I find weird about it is that if he can see m ..read more

My fiance and I adopted our shelter dog 6 months ago. Cannoli She is the sweetest cuddliest joy of sunshine literally you can throw a ball for 3 hours she will go until she drops. We've taken her camping and she loves the water loves the outdoor. She's great with people never is aggressive towards people at all. She is very active and so are we, we take her on runs, play ropes ball, you name it. She's allergic to chicken, beef, turkey, salmon, so she's on prescribed food. But she hates dry kibble, so everyday before work I make her fresh rice peas carrots and mix it with her kibble. We've tak ..read more

I have a reactive 2 year old Collie.
He's my first ever dog (I didn't grow up with them) and obviously I should've done a hell of a lot more reading before getting him because I had absolutely no idea that they're prone to reactivity and have a really high prey drive, and basically are smarter than me.
We've been doing daily training with him for the last 2 years, to mixed success. He's great in the house now (but we went through 4 couches before we got there) and he's lovely with people but still hates basically anything that moves quickly and unpredictably (dogs, kids, scooters, bikes and h ..read more

Hello,
I feel desperate, 3 months ago I saved from the streets a female dog. She was 3-4 months old, she was freezing, she was scared. I feed her and everything and in 2 days she started to be better, she was very loving and friendly. She started to play-bite and to bark a lot and she pees on every object in the house especially beds. One of the beds is completely destroyed and smells awful and I feel like I continuously wash and clean and it s never clean and the house smells of pee. She has like 6-7 months right now and she never pees on the pad, she pees after she's happy, after a walk , a ..read more

Hello, I’ve recently decided I would like to enter the world of protection sports. Unfortunately, I never thought I would be interested in this, so I decided to teach my dog to heel to my right as it had been easiest for me. My trainer now suggested to switch to left heel as most of the sports I’m looking at will require it. I’m finding it difficult to transition myself for some reason (did any right handed people have difficulty luring with their left hand?). My dog also keeps defaulting to the right on walks. Any advice from anyone who oddly had a hard time left heeling? Thank you in advanc ..read more
