Hello SM Tribe, hope you are all off to a good start on your new year. We are considering getting another Maltese soon - so exciting to think about that! Bella passed away in Oct 2023 and we feel the void every single day in our hearts and home. I was busy caring for my ailing dad who also passed away early Dec - I swear Bella was my mother's soul and I feel like my mum and dad are dancing together in heaven now ? All this has left me feeling very empty and yearning for a new furry-love. I... Considering a Boy Malt ..read more

I am praying someone can give me some advice!! I finally have my boy potty (pee) trained on pads, or outside. The only time he'll have an accident is if the pad already has one pee on it, and he'll be all prissy so as not to step in the other dry potty and sometimes misses the pad altogether. But, he's trying at least!! And that doesn't happen often. What does happen often, and I mean several times a day, is he poops... HELP! My furbaby pees on potty pad, but poops all over ..read more

Hello, I am a very new dog owner. I have had no pets up til now and finally relented into getting a puppy due to My daughter begging and crying for one. We got our baby at 9 weeks almost 1 year ago. I should also let you know I was petrified of dogs up til a few months ago so I take full accountability for the lack and lax nature of in house potty training. He goes out multiple times per day for 5-15 minutes and sleeps in his pen at night. Now that I am not afraid of him anymore I’ve... 1 year Old Maltese is marking—Badly ..read more

Hello All! My puppy is 4 months old and I am teaching him to use the pee pads in his play pen. He sleeps in a crate at night. He does so well doing his business on the pee pads at night but during the day when I let him out not so much. I am so lost on training him to use the pee pad when he is free roaming through the day. I know accidents are normal. My family and I also keep a close eye on him but he decides to do his business wherever he pleases. Just need some advice on what to do... Hi everyone! Now, I know that my pup isn’t a Maltese (it was a toss up between the breeds) but everyone here seems lovely and I already have an account. If I am intruding, I sincerely apologize. I have a 5 month old male chihuahua puppy that I brought home when he was 9 weeks old. He is 100% potty trained when he’s in one room, but roaming the house he still has occasional accidents and also pees when overly nervous/excited. He was easy to train and knows a lot of tricks and the basic... Socializing Tips Wanted ..read more

I am removing carpet due to Jodi's accidents , I have not been very successful with Jodi's training and whatever accidents he has had he will go back to those spots even though I've used the odor products like OUT. I keep the carpeted areas of the house babygated but if he gets the chance he'll go on the carpet. Is there a product I can use to clean the plywood as much as possble, before I install new flooring ? I am hoping that the new flooring will solve the problem of Jodi smelling... Hi Everyone. So a few weeks ago I got a 4 month old Maltipoo. I have had a poodle, Pappilons and GSD over the years and I have never had such issues potty training as I have with Daisy. She has no issues peeing and pooping in her crate and laying in it. Yes she’s been vet checked. Her first visit 2 days after I purchased her she had a stomach infection which explained the diarrhea. A yeast infection in both ears. And worms. So after all that’s cleared up we are dealing with this potty... Maltipoo pee’s and poops in her crate ..read more

Hi everyone it’s been sometime since I’ve been on here, im thinking of getting a second Maltese. Preferably a girl, I have noticed that anytime I tell Maltese breeders that I have a male Maltese, they always are skeptical of me getting a female Maltese puppy. They’ll always suggest me to get another male or ask why I want a femal even if I state not for breeding purposes or that my male is altered (neutered) does or has this happened to everyone with the opposite gender Maltese? Leaving my zoey uncrated

Hi everyone, pre-pandemic (2019) I use to leave Zoey crated up to 7 hours while I worked without any problems. Fast forward to now, I only leave her at best for an hour, she hates it. I want to try leaving her uncrated for at least 3 hours. Because I had to replace my indoor camera, the new one comes tomorrow, I will wait until the camera arrives. Does anyone have any suggestion on leaving their fur baby uncrated? I really appreciate your opinion. Thank you. Peace… Sandra ( zoey’s mom ..read more
