We kennel our dog at night for multiple reasons. He used to be perfect and never made a sound, but the last couple weeks he has been waking us up every morning between 7-8am with continuous whining. The first time he did it, I took him outside (He was 6 months and has to pee all the time) and immediately put him back into his kennel after. He was fine. The second time I did it, I took him outside - he barely peed - and continued to whine after he was put back into his kennel. He's 7.5... Dealing with a dog that whines until you wake up ..read more

I'm out of school so have time during the day to play with the dogs. I just took Teaghan downstairs for a review training session, nothing she didn't already know but touch up. We worked on "down" and "nose touch on a target stick" I took no treats, instead I took her "special" squeaky toy. I only take it out when I'm going to train or play with her, it's never just lying around, so it stays special. She loved it, it was a bunch of fun. I'd ask her to do a behavior, she'd do it, I'd... clcicker training with toy ..read more

A couple weeks after we moved, Charlie got pinned down by a rottie (after I told his owner it was not okay for them to meet and even went way around them). Ever since, she will not stop barking at other (black) dogs. She's still fine with lighter colored dogs, but if it's mostly black she barks, and barks, and barks, and barks. I know she's barking for a reason but it is so annoying. I have tried everything I can think of to try to stop it but have no idea what else to try. It's honestly... Will not stop barking ..read more

Dotty isn't naturally a mouthy dog, and so I'm having to train her to put things in to her mouth before I can train her to pick things up off the floor for me. We went from rawhide chew to a chop stick very easily, but getting her to open her mouth on the dumbbell is more difficult as she doesn't seem to understand it. She is making lots of nose/closed mouth contact, a little licking and 2 very small teeth touches today but I was wondering if anyone might have a few tricks or tips to offer... Hello everyone, I have a 2 yrs old Golden Retriever. She's been with us since she was a puppy at 3 month. She is very nice and friendly. We lover her a lot. However, she has a huge problem with water. She doesn't want to be anywhere near a bath spray or a water hydrovalve. She doesn't want to going into pool as well. I have a very hard time giving her a bath. At the beginning, I thought maybe professional help her get use to water, so I took her to Petco. The staff in PetCo spent... I've found three in-home trainers in the area that deal with behavior problems as well as obedience training. I've decided enough is enough. I cannot train him myself. I got bit today when trying to get him in his crate because a plumber was here to fix a leak. He tore off skin, it's bleeding and hurts like crap. How do you choose a trainer ..read more

My 8 month pup still follows me everywhereeee in the house. Since my apartment is tiny he follows me to the bathroom, kitchen everywhere! lol Mind you I'm out of the house from 4-8 hours a day due to work and I have to cage him because if I don't he chews up his pee pad and makes a absolute mess!!! I give him tons of toys and a treat in his Kong before I leave but he continues to do it. Figured he'd stop by 8 months but no avail! Any suggestions ..read more
