I'm sure it's been covered but is there any reason why a 12 week old lab simply refuses to walk on the lead. Oddly if there are 2 of us he seems OK. Another problem is he seems to only wee or poo when in the garden and if he is actually walking he'll pull hard to get home to go to the loo. Been 1 week of walks but only weed and pooed once while out and about ..read more

I've mentioned my DIL's mum's dog, K, who is a little angel, but he has a darker side... She also has another dog, P, a 14-year-old cockerpoo. They have had some spats over food, which is manageable by feeding them separately and keeping all food out of reach, but they are both lap dogs who love to snuggle up to her, and they have also had spats over access to her, and the sofa. It seems that K is the main instigator, but P will occasionally get on the sofa and then challenge K to make...

Hey all, little bit of a background about me. (Some of you may remember me from the postivily board. i was a regular poster there years ago. good to see JudyN still kicking around!)
I have a 10-year-old rat terrier named Bax that came from a puppy mill. he's overcome so many obstacles and I'm so proud of him. he currently works as a therapy dog at the local nursing home coming in on weekends to say hi to the residents and get treats and pets.
That being said he's still a very anxious...

Our 5 month old golden doodle really pulls when we take him for a walk. He’s on a harness, and we’re having training with him, but as soon as he sees another human and/or dog, he’s up on his back legs desperately wanting to meet & greet. We were told to just stand still when he pulls, but that has no effect. We know sniffing is a huge part of growing up & we take treats with us to reward his good behaviour, but the constant pulling is not making for a nice walking experience!! Any help...

Hi all.
My 6 month spaniel cross is growing beautifully and we love him to bits. He is affectionate and loves all dogs and humans.... a bit too much.
He's always been a dog lover, but since he hit his teens he is OBSESSED with other dogs. if we see one out he literally stops, stares, or sits to see if they will come closer to play. Sometimes he will try to rush up and play or lunge on lead, but not always. He is desperate to play all the time. I've now booked him into dog day care once a...

Hi so I have 2 dogs a 7 yr old Bichon and a 8 month old yorkie poo both male. On Tuesday they went to the groomers they have been before but this time the youngest had a full groom like all of his fur gone! From the minute we got in the car until at the time of writing this the youngest will not stop humping the eldest it’s constant! He’s then excessively licking him, crying if he can’t get to him. He’s never been like this before and just won’t stop! Groomers rebathed them as thought it...
