They offer different size packs 25s 50s 100s, they also offer a Starter Pack which I purchased first which was 20 of each colour and a Magnetic Screw Sleeve which helps hold the screw when they go in. They are...

This novice would like to get opinions about the best device to use to make 4x6 aluminum memorial plaques for outside installations. I've looked at several router models, and while most mention use on aluminum, they really don't go into details. And almost all of their examples show use with wood.
Is it reasonable to expect to use something like a 3018 hobbyist type router to be able to engrave these plaques. What depth of routing is it reasonable to expect? What point size is it...

I’m trying to write a simple program the can be used to make cattle ear tags. Each tag has 3 or 4 lines of txt.
The top is the date, the middle a 3 digit number and lines 3 and 4 the farm name.
I am thinking if I use some type of converter for each number 0-9 I could string together paragraphs of g code to formulate the date and cattle number. As for the farm name I would just make that and enter it in as it is only changing once per batch.
Am I on to something, trying something that...

2nd question: has anyone enhanced or replaced the power unit to go from an "engraver" to a "cutter" ?
an example would be to cut wood letters or graphics with the Laser vs Scroll Saw, Router, or CNC ..read more

Some of the letters in the Craftsman letter/number template kit 25017at my community center workshop are chewed up or missing. I admit I've chewed 2 of them myself I read somewhere on this site that MilesCraft made the private label letter template kits for Craftsman and some other companies as well.
Does anyone know if the MilesCraft letter and number sets are compatible with the Craftsman lettering sets? The Craftsman kit came with both 1.5" and 2.5" State Park fonts. I don't care...
