Our last post discussed payroll history challenges and your data warehouse. Today, you’ll learn about challenges with Employee Job History You know that it’s not enough to know what your job counts and job titles are today. You need to know what they were last month, last quarter, and last year. This data presents several key challenges: Changes made after the effective date. Red Three Blog

Why We Use Reports as a Service over Rest APIs with UKG Pro You need to decide how to get your data from UKG Pro. We recommend Reports as a Service (RAAS) even as we also support Rest APIs. Here’s the data. It provides the most data We’ve found all the data we need in People Analytics. While the API list is long, it’s not FULLY comprehensive. For example, the Employee Pay Statement shows everything the employee sees on their check. It doesn’t show Org Level Job allocations. If you do a lot of payroll analysis, this doesn’t work. If you’re like all my customers, you have at least SOME people t ..read more

Kronos Workforce Central to UKG Dimensions: Does SQL Still Matter?

You’ve supported Kronos Workforce Central for years with your SQL skills. Now, your company is moving to Dimensions. Are your skills still important? They are, but they are not enough. Let’s take a moment to share the pain. This challenge is not unique to this migration. SQL has been the Swiss army knife for application support for decades. For this example, we’re using the employee lookup API. As a UKG customer, you can find the API documentation here. We’re happy to send you all the sample code. One note: When you pull up documentation for the first time, you’ll often see a bare minimum screen: Click on the action (in this case Post) We’re doing this in Postman. We’ve worked with lots of Rest APIs. The only constant is that something will probably break in the f ..read more
