We are excited to announce that Dr. Arola Moreras Marti is the winner of the Geochemistry Group Postdoctoral Medal! She won for her paper entitled: “Quadruple sulfur isotope biosignatures from terrestrial Mars analogue systems” in GCA. Arola is originally from Barcelona where she did her undergraduate in Geology at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB). She then did her PhD at the University of St Andrews, and is now a Postdoctoral Researcher between the University of Glasgow and University of St Andrews. We recognise that there is a wide array of career options open to ECRs, but in the middle of a project it can be unclear exactly how the specific skills gained can be relevant to non-academic careers. The Geochemistry Group’s Research in Progress meeting (GGRiP) entered new territory in 2021. In addition to being the first time that the event was held fully online, it was also the first time that we were able to welcome contributions and attendance from overseas delegates, with free participation for institutions in low and middle income countries as recognised by the Research4Life partnership.
