Mayowood Stone Barn Wedding Photography | Alexis + Chuck

It has been an oddly warm winter in Minnesota, but Chuck and Alexis still definitely got some of our patented seasonal chill. They (and their bridal party) were troopers for taking pictures outside, thinking warm thoughts and singing "Bermuda, Bahamas" in their heads. One of my favorite parts of the day was just before the ceremony, when Alexis's grandmother presented her with a special heirloom: a handkerchief that every bride in her family has carried down the aisle since 1901. Passed down through generations, and hand-made by Alexis's great-great grandmother herself, Alexis very carefully w ..read more

Lydia and Tyler tied the knot at The Essence Event Center on a picture-perfect October day. For anyone in a relationship with a partner in a different…well…”ecosystem,” you’ll understand just how significant Tyler and Lydia’s presents to each other were. Tyler not only gifted Lydia an Apple product, he also gracefully accepted Lydia’s present (an iPhone). Yep, that’s true love folks. The morning was full of fun, starting with our meeting Lydia’s mom, who was walking around with “tiny hand” props for reasons we did not understand, waving us into the room. Down the hall, the groomsmen had a bar ..read more

Stout’s Island Lodge Wedding Film | Lauren + Tom

Back at Stout’s Island! Exploring with the lovely Lauren and Tom this time, we were so happy to shoot at this Wisconsin oasis of beauty and fun.  One of my favorite new additions to weddings in the past few years are the Fun Fact napkins. They can be informative, funny, and a great conversation starter during cocktail hour. Lauren and Tom chose to highlight the fact that they have driven across the county four times (13657 miles) for their furball, Benji.  Benji also got to be a part of the ceremony processional, and decided that all eyes should be on him as he took an ..read more

Redeemed Farm Wedding Photography and Videography | Saskia + Ben

Saskia and Ben held their wedding at Redeemed Farm in Scandia. It’s one of our favorite venues; with so many ceremony location options, every wedding there feels unique, everything is just a short stroll away, and every bit of the landscape is lush and tranquil. For her toast, Ben’s sister wrote the most hilarious, sweet, and roasty poem. She was a bit nervous to speak, and I have to say, if you’re nervous about a speech and you can write this funny, a poem is the perfect way to go. People expect you to read a poem word for word (not common with a normal speech), and there’s a built ..read more

The Jerome Event Center Wedding Videography | Sarah + Brad

What I learned from Brad and Sarah’s wedding day: If you have a chance to buy a card with puppies on it or a card without puppies on it – BUY THE CARD WITH THE PUPPIES. I don’t care if it’s low hanging fruit. Puppies be cute and there’s never a time when that’s not true.  But I also learned that Brad and Sarah are amazing, sweet, genuine people, with fantastic family and friends, one of whom was willing to pull out an amazing surfer dance move, the likes of which I have never seen before.  I’d also like to give another couple random shout outs – to the man driving the truck who pulle ..read more

The Fields Reserve Wedding Videography | Lexi + Ben

One of my favorite stories from the toasts – and there were so many! – was from the Best Man. When he was roommates with Ben, he would observe Ben sitting silently on the couch with his earbuds in, on the phone with Lexi. But he often wasn’t listening to her talk, they were just trying to experience their days together while they were living in different states. They would stay on the phone for hours to learn more about each other, and understand their daily lives in a deeper way than a summary could ever provide.  The other definite highlight to capture was Lexi’s amazing dance with her ..read more

Recently, we had the privilege of documenting the wedding of Lexi and Ben at the enchanting Fields Reserve venue. In his speech, the best man painted my favorite picture of the night when he said: “Ben is motivated and driven. So driven that he drove all the way from Iowa City from Huston to follow the love of his life. I like to imagine Ben driving down the highway in the middle of the night in a two door rusty pickup; I think, one eye closed shut from allergies, like he’s a love pirate.” Lexi’s maid of honor had this to say about her: “Lexi has always been the responsible one. She’s very sta ..read more

As photographers, one of the most rewarding experiences is being able to capture photos that will still be meaningful for decades. Recently, we had the pleasure of photographing Ari and Matt’s engagement session in the charming town of Stillwater, and it was truly gorgeous. From the breathtaking sunset to the sentimental locations, every moment was filled with significance and beauty. Ari, with her impeccable taste, had chosen Stillwater as the backdrop for their engagement photos due to its charm and timeless beauty. But little did she know just how serendipitous this choice would turn o ..read more

There’s something magical about ringing in the new year with a celebration of love and an awesome party, and that’s exactly what Hannah and Dave did on their wedding day. The snow-covered streets of Minneapolis provided a picturesque backdrop for their wedding at The Whim, a charming and intimate venue that perfectly complemented the couple’s style. But it wasn’t just the setting that made Hannah and Dave’s wedding so special. From their heartfelt vows to their thoughtful details, every aspect of their day was infused with love and personality. As they stood in front of their friends and famil ..read more

From Campus to Sunset: Brittany and Tom’s Wedding at Nicollet Island Pavilion

Brittany and Tom got married on the campus of their alma mater, at The Chapel of St Thomas Aquinas. It was so great to follow them around to their old haunts, the lawn in front of the library, the arches, and finally the steps up to the Chapel. Much of their bridal party was at home as well. Usually you have to be careful that no one gets lost on the way to take pictures, but this group was like “yeah, I know that tree. Meet you at the corner!” They laughed and joked like they were on their way to class. I seemed to remember some “Office” references as well, further adding to the feeling that ..read more
