Is it possible to run Vista on a ThinkCentre M93P 10AA?

Hi! I picked up an M93P 10AA a few days ago and although I know its built for Win7 I want to know if it's still possible to run Vista x64 on it. It has an i5-4570T, 8GB of RAM and HD 4600 Integrated Graphics. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/Expert-Original-7553 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

Installation Stuck on “Windows is loading files”

Hi, I was trying to install Windows Vista on Pure UEFI (no CSM boot) after I read online that you could do such thing, so I tried for myself just to get stuck here many of times. All of the tries never worked and I’ve gotten stuck at this loading part and I’ve waited for minutes. Is there a possible solution? or should I just give up and hope for a PC with an actual BIOS not UEFI (Also I saw you could use UEFISeven, I tried and ended up with the same exact problem.) submitted by /u/AutoTheThird [visit reddit] [comments ..read more

I have an off lease, or a retired working desktop, I have a 2.5” 2tb SATA and a 1tb 7200rpm full sized SATA HDD, I have a Phenom II X4 945, 8gb in a 2x4gb layout at 1333mhz, some ancient Radeon for the HDMI out, HD4350? Its the Asrock 880GM-LE motherboard limiting the build to 8gb 1333mhz max. I have only ever dabbled in older than 64-bit windows a few times, mostly as a kid too, so i don’t know if Vista needs a buffer ram setup or if the EOL Vista hashed out all the ram sinks I had the understanding used to be there. Down to the brass tacks, is this an XP 64-bit build or a Vista one? submit ..read more

Old HP Pavillion dv4

Let me preface this by saying I’m not a computer expert, just trying to help someone else out. I was gifted an HP Pavillion dv4, it looks like it’s from somewhere between 2008-2012? It’s practically brand new, was barely used by its previous owner. A family member just wants to use it for light web browsing. It has Windows Vista, and I’m wondering if I can/should update the OS? I’m only seeing options for Windows 7 being the most recent OS it can update to. Should I bother doing this, or would it potentially slow it down? If so, I have no idea how to go about doing that either. It has Interne ..read more

Can't install vista

I deleted everything and choose to install vista ultimate to the unallocated space but even that fails. Windows cannot copy files required for installation. The files may be corrupt or missing...... Error 0x80070241. I can't get past this. Is there an iso that will work? Also first gen i3 on a Toshiba laptop that came with windows 7 so I'm pretty sure it's compatible. submitted by /u/empty_branch437 [visit reddit] [comments ..read more
