My sister and I are taking a one month Mediterranean cruise, with additional 5 days in Italy. We normally use our credit cards for most transactions, but realize we’ll need Euros for other things like those pesky bathroom tips, afternoon coffee’s, maybe transportation, and street side vendors. We’re trying to figure out what might be a reasonable amount of Euros to bring. Any advice???
Any hints are much appreciated!
And thank you in advance ..read more

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and were very happy! Huge thanks to all the wonderful people of Cruise Critic for recommending this hotel. It’s a very nice hotel, quiet despite being directly behind the Pantheon, and great location that’s within a walkable distance to everything. We only used taxis to get to the Vatican and Colosseum, everything else was less than 10-15 minutes walking.
We had the superior double and our daughter had the superior single. Both rooms were clean and spacious. The staff were always pleasant and gave us free water bottles every day. The hotel breakfast ..read more

We’ve been using Bob’s Limousine for all transfer on our Odyssey cruise. Probably won’t use this company again.
The first trip from the airport to the hotel, it was okay. The driver was polite but didn’t say a word during the trip, and we were okay with that.
Second trip to the cruise port, the driver had his speaker phone on the whole time, it was very noisy in the van .
And today for the trip to go back to the airport, the van was reeked of smoke. It wasn’t pleasant for some people in our party because they have asthma ..read more

Our ship will be docked overnight at La Spezia and I would like to take advantage of the time and get an earlier start. It appears that I need to get a shuttle to get out of the port and I am worried that I may not be able to leave as early as I would like I was hoping to be able to start my day at 6 or 7 am Does anyone know if this is possible ..read more

Can't believe this happened to me but it did. Very clever trio in metro; a guy sprang from behind and started retching at my feet (as in, pretending to vomit), I lept back to avoid him, and he ran off, and that was it. 5 mins later i noticed my phone was gone (it was in a top front pocket so not entirely secure but had been using it to check station names, walking directions, etc). I then realized a young respectable-looking couple to my right also ran, and pieced it together that they were scoping me out and got the phone when the guy startled me. I'm pretty savvy so this bl ..read more
