Hello, I am looking at purchasing a cheap property in the Molise Area. I have done a lot of online trawls to find a property and have found something small and modest within my budget as I wont have a mortgage.
The property is 14K EUR and I have been emailing the agents that posted it, they seem very non-committal in response. I had to email them to get confirmation that my offer had been received or accepted. I asked about their costs to me, expecting 3-4% of the sale value and was quoted...

hi my wife and I and three children and also our dog plan to move to Italy for one year starting in mid 2025. We actually were just approved for Italian citizenship even though American and live in the US. My question is if you have middle school age kids, and going to Italy but then going back to the United States how does the schooling coincide? in other words if they are currently in sixth and seventh grade if they go to school in Italy, will they be able to go right back into their...

I am a US Citizen living in the US with dual citizenship and enrolled in AIRE. I would like to buy a house in Italy and stay there for less than 6 months a year while working remotely for a US employer. Is this possible or are there tax implications with Italy? My home base would still be in the US. I guess my question is if I would be considered a tax resident in Italy under those circumstances and would my employer have to follow any EU regulations? Thanks ..read more

Hi,
18 years ago while living in Rome, my wife and I bought a property for 30,000 euros near Sulmona in Abruzzo with the intention of renovating it. Although not derelict it was uninhabitable and had no utilities connected. Fast forward 18 years, we are back in England with a family and still have the house in Abruzzo untouched! We would like to start the renovation but are aware of taxes we are probably liable for during the intervening years. Does anyone have any idea on what we could...

Hello! I have always dreamed of living in Italy. I studied Italian Language and am at a stage in life (46 and single) that I am ready to consider moving there - from 6 months to a year or more. I need to find a way to make income there of course. Any tips on how an expat can secure a good job with great wages somewhere in Italy?
Thank you! Ciao for now!

If you need it the website now can switch to English. If you've ever used the German website English option I'd expect similar things.
Some people might find it useful.
Even if you don't switch the language option on the top of the page you can still search with English terms.
Just understand it might give you different results. But if you aren't sure what the Italian word is for something search in English then copy and paste the Italian word into the search box ..read more

We are a couple looking to move to Valle D'Aosta next year. The areas we are looking at are around Aosta, Nus, Quart, Chatillon, in the central valley area.
I have Italian citizenship, although I'm a UK resident. I would be looking to retire there but would be keen to know what the average utility costs would be for a 3/4 bed home, either a semi-detached or detached property of approx. 150-200sq meters. We are keener on newer houses with a good energy efficiency, but not necessarily brand...
