Hi… I currently feed my dogs home cooked, raw and kibble (hybrid diet). The older dogs only gets about a half cup at dinner, but the pup get 1 1/2 cups per day (puppy kibble).
Because I am feeding them 95% human grade food, I can’t afford ‘top end’ kibble. I am on a very limited budget, and get my kibble from the supermarket.
just wanted to know what kibble is good but budget friendly.
Older dog gets a mix, but currently on True Origin fish and pup’s on Optimum. Thank you ..read more

I have a question. I had 3 year old Chase desexed last Monday. For the first 2 days after the surgery he was fine. A bit groggy but eating and drinking well. I have had him crated at all times with his cone on, unless he has been on lead for toileting and little leg stretch walks to the mailbox (we have a very long driveway). On the third day he stopped drinking water entirely, was clearly nauseous and vomited once. I took him back to the vet on the 4th day because he still refused water, if I tricked him with some watered down chicken stock, he would burp and it would all come back up.

I'm an oldie and in the habit of using benadryl for bee stings and other minor allergic stuff. I was surprised when my vet recommended trying another over the counter med. I see there are at least 3 recommend options these days

Wonder how others have done with the newer options. Trying an itchy boy on Loratadine ATM. So far so good ..read more

Maybe some DOLer knows where I can purchase a large bottle of 1000 tablets of Urimav urinary acidifier tablets 400 mg, I have searched and there seems to be only 100 tablets as an option, I had a few years back bought a large container of 1000 tablets which worked out to be really economical in comparison but now I can't find any on-line store that stocks that size
Zara is only 12 y/o so the 1000 tablet option should last her nearly 3 years
<---like this but 1000 tablets ..read more

I'd just like to extend my thanks to Erny for sharing her knowledge on using Calendula Tea as a rinse, rather than using a shampoo. I've just given my two dogs a calendula bath and OMG! Their coats have come up looking absobloodylutely AMAZING!!
Kirah's wire coat has kept all its coarse wire texture but it smells so fresh and looks so clean. Zeus has always had a shiny coat but because it's so hot today, I gave him a cool rinse too and again, his coat just looks wonderful.
Thank you so much Erny for letting DOLers know about this wonderful tea and its benefits as both a rinse and itch/allergy ..read more
