Just trialing the "Stop Bloody Scratching" product because our Mina was always riffing, even on a walk she would sit down and scratch at her collar, or middle. Checked for fleas on her and us and not a sign so I think it could just be the food. First dose today so we will see how it goes ..read more

Hello, this is my first post on here so please forgive me if this type of thing has been asked before.
I have a beautiful 8 year old chocolate lab called Bailey.
He is fantastic in all ways except for 1 thing he eats dog poo
He has done this since he was a pup and we managed to stop him eating his own except for the odd occasion but the biggest problem is that when we go out for walks he eats other dog poo which is absolutely disgusting and extremely embarrassing as well.
We have...

Hi, I have a fox red lab who allways has eaten too fast and occasionally sick after. Fed him this morning in a slow feeder and kibble added some warm water too, but a minute after eating he had thrown all of it up and absolutely none of it was chewed still in original form. As said we have a slow feeder but doesn’t work anyone else have a better solution ..read more

Hey all!
We have just got our beautiful 9 week old chocolate Labrador but I’m concerned her food isn’t getting on with her.
She was started on Skinners field & trial puppy from the breeder (all KC registered & healthy) so we have continued with the same to avoid any issues.
However, her stools are not firm (sorry TMI) and I would have thought they should be as she’s fully weaned from mum and her flatulent’s are vile!! I know they’re not supposed to be rosey but you get the point!
We had...

Evening all,
Another weight query, Rost is 17 months old now, just been for his vet check and he's down to 25kg, earlier this year he was at just over 27kg.
Recently switch to 80/20 food from Sevens, I'm still feeding him for a 30kg dog (400g a day), other owners say he's lean but not thin.
He's from completely working lines so I'm trying to figure out if this is normal.
Thanks in advance ..read more

I remember when Milo was 5-6 months and he was in the kennels for a few days, and the owner added some Chappie to his meals as he felt he looked a bit underweight. When we came to pick him up we thought gosh he's put some weight on he's looking healthy! And the chap told us that's what he does when his dogs are a bit too slim. We were (and still are) very new to owning a dog so we trusted his judgement but just carried on feeding him dry. I've seen now that Chappie isn't the healthiest of...

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice. My 10 month old lab, Bella, has suddenly gone off her food (we feed her dried food, and soak it first). She used to demolish it! But she has hardly eaten any of it during the past few days. She does get treats throughout the day and now and again will take some of our food! What might be the best tactic to overcome this problem, and when should I start to become worried? I'm thinking of just perservering, and laying off the treats/ stop her from...

Hi all! My girl Kikei is overweight (as people love to tell us pretty much daily) She definitely has a stocky build (our previous two labs were naturally slimmer)
I feed her half of the recommended amounts, half dry and half raw. Her daily caloric intake is about 1,000 calories, I've read the recommended caloric intake for a dog her size (80 lbs) is 1,659; 1,500 for her target weight of 70 lbs.
She doesn't get any biscuits or treats, occasionally she's get dinner scraps but only...

This has been discussed before I think but...dry food feeding guides: do they 'over' or 'under' recommend based on your experiences?
Milo has been on BETA puppy chicken and 14kg lasts a month with him getting over 300g a day. We are making the switch to Eden which is much better nutritionally but a bit more expensive. Our reason to switch was that Milo has always pooped a lot and rarely has firm stools. We picked up a sample of raw from a dog show and supplemented his diet with it and his...

Just before Xmas I switched Rosie and Frank onto Skinners Field & Trial Duck & Rice after reading recommendations on here and they did just fine on it. So we ordered a 2nd bag.
The local Pet Shop has changed hands and Hubby picked up the dog food on Xmas Eve. I went to feed the dogs that night and found something rather unexpected in the dog food bin. Unfortunately they have either ordered the wrong food; or Hubby has picked up the wrong bag - we have Muesli Mix.
Being out of food we...
