Have you ever been in such a hurry and so stressed out that you do not realize you put on two different shoes? You arrive at work and then notice that you have put on one blue shoe and one black one. It may seem like a total embarrassment, and maybe it is at first, but is it something that bad? Is it something to ruin your day? The worst thing that can happen is that it becomes a joke for a while, and in the end, you get a good laugh. A good laugh you probably needed anyway because it’s been so long since you enjoyed a good laugh. Sometimes, what you thought would be t ..read more

CARING FOR OUR PLANET

This week, we celebrated Earth Day. A quote that I like by Mary Davis says, "To walk into nature is to witness a thousand miracles." I feel a stronger connection to God when I enjoy nature. Being around nature is being closer to God's creative side. The changes we see in nature remind us of God's creative power, and it lets us be witnesses of His greatness. Observing all the breathtaking views around us brings us closer to Him. We should enjoy the beauty in nature more, embrace the blessings each day brings to our lives, and be grateful for them. We must show God our gratefulness by taking car ..read more

THE PEBBLE IN YOUR SHOE

The other day, as I was walking, I noticed something was bothering me as I walked. I imagined that it was a pebble in my shoe, but I kept walking because I didn't want to take my shoe off in front of everyone. Then, later on, because it was so bothersome, I had to finally take my shoe off to take out the pebble and end my suffering. This got me thinking that sometimes, we decide to keep walking with a pebble in our shoes. As Muhammad Ali said, "It isn't the mountains ahead to climb that wear you out; it's the pebble in your shoe." Things like insecurities, unforgiveness, jealousy ..read more

THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING A REST AND QUIET TIME ROUTINE

This weekend, I baked some Rosemary Focaccia Bread, and while I was waiting for the dough to rise, I thought about how important it is for us to have well-balanced rest time and a clear mind to grow. Rest is essential to recharge and regain strength, just like bread needs time to rise and prove. When we don't get enough rest, we become overwhelmed and prone to making mistakes, causing us to overlook important things. For children and teens to thrive and be productive, it's crucial to maintain a balance between activities, quiet time, and rest time. We should encourage our children to incorpora ..read more

HE CONQUERED DEATH, LET'S CELEBRATE!

It is common for us to look for Christ only on the cross, but we forget that He is alive and has conquered death for our salvation. We often search for Him in places where He is no longer present. "Now, on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices they had prepared. 2 But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. 3 Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 And, it happened as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in ..read more

Have you ever fallen in love with something that, as soon as you saw it, you wanted it? I think we all have been there. But what happens when it is so pricey that you cannot afford it? Most of the time, when you want something that bad, you work hard to obtain it. You do everything to achieve the prize, even if it is hard or implies sacrifice. Then, why is it so hard to do the same in our spiritual life? As we prepare to celebrate the Holy Week next week, let us take a moment to reflect on the importance of Jesus and His sacrifice. To receive Him, we must be willing to make sacrifices. Let us ..read more

HOW TO PREPARE YOUR CHILD FOR THE HOLY WEEK AND RESURRECTION SUNDAY

This month, we celebrate Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday. For the whole month, our children's minds are on the candy they will receive, the Easter bunny, and the egg hunting. Sadly, the celebration has become less and less spiritual and more commercialized. I remember how solemn the Holy Week was as I grew up; It was full of God's Word, fasting, and reflection. Although celebrating Easter with the kids is not harmful and can bring beautiful memories with them, we must teach them that Easter is not about the Easter Bunny but about Jesus Christ. We must teach them that they need to prepare the ..read more

Conviction in the dictionary is defined as a firmly held belief or opinion. It's the quality of showing that one is deeply convinced of what one believes or says. It is a quality that is connected with the unwavering belief or opinion that an individual holds. When one has a conviction, one tends to defend it at all costs, even when faced with opposition or challenges. In biblical terms, conviction is the product or fruit of an individual's relationship with God. It is not something that occurs suddenly by inspiring a person to stand up for God. Conviction is a consequence of the depth and str ..read more

If your shoes could talk, what would they say about you?

If your shoes could talk, what would they say about you? We live in a world where maintaining an image has become more relevant than remaining authentic. How many fake worlds would crumble if suddenly our silent witnesses could talk? Shoes go everywhere with us. They accompany us on all our adventures. They know our weaknesses and strengths. They have seen us in our best and worst moments. If they could talk, they would have many tales to share. Humor me, imagine your shoes could talk; would you let them talk? Would you be ashamed or proud of what they say?    Nowadays, with all the ..read more
