Hi! My 2 year old chihuahua cattle dog mix was a picky eater until we switched him over to Freshpet. He loves it, especially the beef recipe, but recently I saw some reviews on a grocery website about a known carcinogenic ingredient, carageenan, in this brand of dog food. When I did some research, the fear mongering info was mostly coming from competitors (I think it was Ollie?) -- so I am taking it with a grain of salt. I am looking for a healthy food that is best for a dog around his age (puppy? adult?) and that is affordable. Maybe around $60 for 40 pounds (give or take a few dollars)? I'm looking for recommendations on a wet dog food for my 15yr old Pekingese beagle mix. She was on pure balance dry food for a long time but has recently been throwning up on it and was lethargic. So my dog is super picky about food and definitely doesn’t eat enough. Currently she gets purina pro plan wet and dry mixed together with bone broth and fish oil. Now I know she enjoys the food because the first couple of times I gave it to her she gobbles it up, but eventually I think she gets bored and wants human food. Hi everyone. I’ve seen a lot of back and forth about fresh food versus kibble (and the many reasons why one may be better than the other). My dog is very picky - we’ve tried Purina Pro Plan, a vet prescribed diet, and Hills. My dog has no interest in them. She has been on OpenFarm, the Salmon & Ancient Grains recipe, for about a year.
